Excellent, excellent points... but Rove made another mistake on the Palin woman.. he said she was mayor of the 2nd largest city in Alaska... if I remember right, Fairbanks is the 2nd largest city (if my rememberance is correct)... and it has about 50-60,000 people)....

The Palin woman was mayor of a city of 9,000 people.

    This is a great clip.

From my perspective, with convention coverage and through the rest of the election cycle, this is THE time to watch The Daily Show... I don't think there's a "newscast" out there that does a better job of highlighting (and skewering) hyprocrites and inconsistencies - by both parties. Though, I think the GOP does have a lot more downright outrageous examples.

It's funny 'cuz it's true. Rove is such a sack of sh*t. McCain and Palin are just as bad when you look at what they're saying NOW to what they said then.
    And these G-D M-Fs called Kerry a flip-flopper?! B*tches, please!

I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry....

Thats the issue, it will never be on FOX, or even CNN (I dont think anyway)..so the masses will not see it.

The right wing does not care anyway, (there is a difference between conservative and right wing religious nuts....) they are all lab dogs and salivate at key words and are under total control of Carl Roves command. He just has to utter "liberal, gays, abortion, taxes" and those people will believe anything without thinking or connecting the dots.

They are brilliant! The GOP.....they have this rabid religious base they control now, spellbound group that does anything for them and will keep them in power.

Enjoy Jon Stewart's comedy for exactly what is is: comedy. Poor Mr. Stewart will never be a serious journalist and his liberal ramblings are tiresome and annoying to most people. Enjoy his comedy though - it is amusing to see him having his fun.

Altough its comedy, I think its more along the lines of if you can't laugh you'll cry.
There is some seriously disturbing shit (not to mention double-standards) going on in american politics and media.
He (Jon Stewart) may be making light of it all, but I think he is doing the world a favor by having the balls to bring it to people's attention and call things out for what they are.
Why is it that conservatives feel the need to constantly look the other way and let all these fucked up events slide? I'll never understand that..

Exactly, if Jockbod saw a similar clip of Obama doing the same thing, he and most right wingers would be all upset and it would be all over the news.
I have to add to guys like Jockbod, you think you are all conservative and all....the people you are supporting...(like in the town my parents live in)...you go there and think you are one of them until they learn you are gay and you will be lucky to get out of there without being strung up behind a truck and draged down a gravel road. Why you support and ID with these people I dont know.

not quite clear how this qualifies as a 'liberal rambling.' john is merely pointing out the hypocrisy of karl, dick, bill o and janet. four people, EXTREMELY gifted at talking out of both sides of their mouth - whatever fits their spin. hardly rambling - perhaps in republican terms, those four would be called (proverbial) flip floppers.

Jon Stewart doesn't want to be a serious journalist and has several times said his show shouldn't be taken too seriously.

And merely talking condescendingly about him doesn't invalidate the observations he makes.

But that's exactly my point - there little or no 'validation' in what Stewart has to say - it's only comedy.......most would say buffoonery. And really - who is king of condescending remarks about people? Wouldn't Mr. Steward be a contender?

I love John Stewart. Funniest guy EVER!

I don't think these people are at fault though. They obviosly suffer from a severe case of bipolar personality disorder. ((not))

Ya cant dismiss his remarks when he shows the news clips back to back. ...Actually, to me, that is what makes his show so powerful...I wish more news show held politicians feet to the fire like that....in Primetime!

Don't blame the messenger. Blame the buffoonery that is the spin machine of the hypocrites. Amazing. It's black and white in front of you and you still find a way to dismiss it. What is your malfunction?

A flash flood forced a man onto his roof. The man was scared and prayed to God that he save him from the tragedy. Shortly after the prayer, a man in a rowboat stops by and says, "Hop in. I'll save you." The stranded man replies, "That's okay. God will save me. The rowboat moves on. Later, after more prayers, a larger boat stops by and offers the same rescue. The man refuses with full faith in God's safety. The boat moves on. Exactly one hour later, a helicopter flies by offering the same safety. The man refuses the rescue and claims God will protect. Finally, the man drowns. Upon facing God's Judgement, the man asks God, "Why didn't you save me?" God replies, "I sent two boats and a helicopter and you still refused."

MORAL OF THE STORY: What's your malfunction?

I don't know... I think it's kinda cute when the Republicans on here get all huffy when presented with clear and obvious contradictions their leaders are trying to get away with.
