    Life After DEFEAT

I love the last paragraph of this article.

Late Wednesday afternoon, as sleet fell in Boston’s North End, Romney visited his campaign headquarters for one final staff meeting. He thanked his aides and said goodbye. His Secret Service detail gone — and with it his code name, Javelin, after a car once made by his father’s company — Romney was spotted driving off in the backseat of his son Tagg’s car. His wife, Ann, was riding shotgun.

Could Mitt Romney be on suicide watch?
How do you think he would do it?

So I read the article and I find that they are still clueless as to what happened. They refuse to acknowledge the damage they did to themselves with the blatant lie that was the Jeep ad and the "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" deception.

If they want to blame it on a hurricane, so be it. But let me be blunt. If they needed that final week to make a difference in their campaign, they were already at great risk of losing the election. And how do we know this? BECAUSE THE POLLS SAID SO!

Living in the Detroit area, that Jeep misspeak was in the news every single day even during near constant Hurricane coverage. The Jeep ad aired in Ohio, not here, but we saw it many times on the news. Chrysler gave its employees election day off with pay. Mitt might not want to admit it, but his mistake made a big difference here and in Northwest Ohio.

I think it is "telling" that this stands as Mitt Romney's last tweet as of this moment.... which was posted prior to the election returns.

That is it. No thank you to staff, volunteers, voters. No inspiring message of "i want to work to bring this country together".

    Absolutely nothing.

Either he is the coldest fish in the sea or....he is on suicide watch.

Romney (like most losing presidential candidates) will probably never get over losing the election. Other losing candidates, in years past, have said as much.

    Why did he lose ?

    1) The Obama team got a huge head start, while Romney was trying to nail down the Republican nomination.

    2) Romney refused to release his tax returns. It made him look untrustworthy.

    3) Nobody knew what Romney stood for, because he was all over the map on the specific issues that were near and dear to the hearts of most Republican voters (and many other voters).

    4) The 47% speech

    5) "Let Detroit go bankrupt !"

    6) The Obama "ground game" was miles and miles ahead of the Romney team, in targeting voters.

    7) Obama was the incumbent (almost always a big advantage).

icon_cool.gif The voters knew what they were getting with Obama, and they liked and trusted him. Not so, with Romney.

    9) Romney never gave any details of how he was going to create "12 million new jobs,"

    10) A huge percentage of gay voters, Asian voters, Latino voters, and young voters went for Obama.

Nah. Now that he's lost, he's probably busy amending his tax returns so he can pay even a lower tax rate than 14%.

And don't forget women voters. This election had the second biggest gender gap ever recorded by CNN exit polls, with an estimated 9 points between the two.

Could THIS put him over the edge?

Has Ann hidden all the sharp objects? Or, has she bought razor blades and left them laying around the mansion?

The most satisfying part of the evening: the fact that Logan was overflowing with the private jets of romneys backers. And they lost. And they had to go home.

    A delightful ending, I think.

Good analysis, I would tend to agree with most of what Web has said.... very true.

yourname2000 saidActually, as much as I'd love to gloat (more), apparently Romney will be spending the next few weeks trying to get his 400 campaign staffers "great jobs". If true, I actually applaud his efforts to be gracious in losing and do his best to be as committed to his staff as they were to him.
