A'ight YO! I'm back with a vengeance as I blog about this one. I'm hoping your eyes don't get burned reading the anger of my words off your screen.

This RANT! Is vehemently directed at the FAKE BOXER(s)! You KNOW WHO You are! You're that guy with a picture of himself wearing boxing gloves, striking the pose of a boxer and saying yeah, I box. M%&*% F&^er going to a gym and hitting the heavy bag DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BOXER! Borrowing someone's gloves and/or boxing trunks to take a picture in DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BOXER! Watching boxing on TV and being a fan DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BOXER! Taking a Boxer-Aerobics class while wearing imitation boxing gloves DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BOXER! I cannot even begin to tell you how much this angers those of us that have taken the time to learned the fine art of pugilism and trained at our chosen sport to become good at what we do. It is a DIRECT insult to those of US that take PRIDE in our sport & abilities to engage other men and battle within the squared circle. It's also aggravating to no end to come across a profile like previously aforementioned when it's a well body conditioned guy that looks like he could give you a good fight or some heavy duty rounds testing your physical endurance and mental fortitude.
I'll tell you FAKE BOXERS this. My veteran fisticuff fighters and I know how to quickly determine if you're a real boxer or not. AND like most gay men we talk. The gay boxing network is very small unlike the gay wrestling circuit. When a new profile appears one of us will find out if you're real or not and quickly inform the others so we don't all waste our time trying to get know you and find out if you're legit or not.

You know it's sad in this day and age when people have to be thoroughly investigated first, when an individual cannot be taken on the honor of his word. As an IT (Information Technology) man, I'm sure when the internet was first created the inventors had only good intentions for bringing people from all over the world closer together; to allow like minded individuals to find one another quickly; to strengthen the bonds of friendship and camaraderie across the globe. And yet there are those who abuse this great tool and use it for dishonorable and nefarious purposes. We are gay and we are boxers (a double if not triple minority), yet some of us still delve into the art of subterfuge. Call me naïve, but what eventuality does this serves when we are seeking like minded others? We hide from the world at large yet lie to those like us. THIS IS WRONG! My momma always said "If you don't know why you're doing something, then you shouldn't be doing it." – SO STOP!

It takes a guy being serious about his chosen sport. And being smart enough to know if he's gonna do this, he needs to get some lessons from a skilled coach/trainer so he can learn how to protect himself and learn to enjoy the sport and have fun when he faces off against another man as they determine who has the greater physical and mental fortitude to be the winner.

I think you have gone too overboard. Technically a boxer is someone who boxes for sport. That could be fun, professional, amateur. I personally consider myself a boxer. I love it. Have I taken lessons? Yes. Have a spared against people? Yes. But I am no where near boxing all the time, and no one knows me in the field of boxing...

Also it shouldn't matter if someone is faking being a boxer...if you suspect it, challenge them to a match, and teach them what it takes.

“Overboard?” “WHAT THE DEUCE?” (In my best Stewie Griffin voice from Family Guy) It’s definitively obvious you misinterpreted what I said, nevertheless, I’ll respond. “Who said anything about boxing all the time?” I’m not a pro, nor have I ever been one. I train ever other day to keep in shape. I engage my buddies in the ring on a weekly to semi weekly basis to keep up and some times improve my skills. AND it does matter if a guy is being a fake boxer because he’s wasting your time and partially his if or when he contacts you to meet up to box and all he really wants is sex. I’ve flat out sent a guy home for trying to deceive me like that. OR should you and the Fake Boxer actually get to the point where you’re in the ring you nail the guy two to three times with a jab to the nose snapping his head back. His eyes tear up and he bolts out of the ring. Yes, these scenarios have actually happened to myself and a few of my other boxing buds. So tell me again why “It doesn’t matter?”

BTW, I save my boxing teaching lessons for arrogant str8 guys that think their tough and want to “try” and beat up a gay boxer. But that’s a rant for another time.

    i would put it at:
    1) you've sparred at some point (in the ring)
    2) you enjoy it and dont do it to look tough

For those that have never experienced it, it’s easy not to be able to identify with the point of my RANT. I know several gay boxers that have been on the scene for decades that have relayed their horror stories to me regarding this.

So if you can’t understand then pass this topic on by and leave room for others that want to get this issue of their chest. Otherwise you sound like a pessimistic prick that has no idea what he’s talking about and is negligent about holding others to a basic level of repect for dedicated individuals.

I've known Techboxer for years and he's a good guy.

The fact that he found it necessary taloto compose and document his rant says "Wow, somebody REALLY got under his skin. Knowing him I also know that the offendee is lucky that he didn't deliver his rant against the offendee in the boxing ring .
