Gay republicans (with a particular knack for wrongly predicting presidential election results).

Just speaking hypothetically of course, if someone were being paid to influence an election by posting nonstop right-wing propaganda and lies on left-leaning forums, there would really be no reason to continue that behavior once the election was over (and lost), correct?

Continuing to speak hypothetically, that propaganda campaign might have included creating a host of sock-puppet accounts to create the illusion that many people share that one person's views, as well as posting endless lies along the lines of:
"Up here in (insert geographic location) all the gays are voting for Romney because he's so obviously superior to Obama on economic issues"
    or
"Obama used to be against gay marriage so he and Romney are really equal on marriage equality (pay no attention to Romney's promised anti-gay Constitutional amendment)"
    or
The "personal experience" that can't be disproved, but is an obvious right-wing fantasy, such as:
"I visited the Occupy protest site and talked to the protesters, and it turns out they're just a bunch of communists/drug addicts(etc.) who don't want to work, they're just there to get on tv and score some free food. Oh, and they're living in filth and raping each other."

Now that the formerly deluded GOP has been "shell-shocked" by reality (also called "losing an election") they are licking their wounds and crafting a strategy on how to move forward. Once that ball is rolling, perhaps the conservative sock-puppet theater will start up anew? icon_wink.gif

    and NON-HYPOTHETICALLY,

The Family Research Council has boasted about having their volunteers participating in online gay forums to introduce "light into the darkness"----or what I would describe as "fucking with us".

Their posting history usually goes like this:

1st post: "What do you guys think about Cher?"

2nd post: "I'm realizing that there is so much emptiness and pain in this gay lifestyle."

3rd post: "I found Jesus and a girlfriend and now I feel FABULOUS!"

Working on Poverty, Homelessness or Disaster Relief doesn't seem to interest them very much.

But 'CURING THE GAYS' always gets them excited.

Perhaps they're off getting signatures for those petitions to secede from the US.

I think it is quite narcissistic to believe anyone would pay to spew anything on RJ.

Considering that any sort of disagreement from the liberal orthodoxy here is met with personal attacks threats and foul language.

I will have you know that even in liberal West Hollywood, the vote for Mitt Romney was significantly more than the Republican Line.

It says more about the priorities and the maturity of some on here to continue to take a personal interest in RJ members, instead of contributing to a substantive debate.

I read tht Mitt cancelled ALL the election staff's credit cards rather quickly.

WHAT a sore looser! It's not like Mitt needed the money....

Thanks. I suspected as much. I don't know but to me "gay Republican" is a bit of an oxymoron.

This is a gay website. It would be remarkable if it and the vast majority of its members did not have a strong and outspoken liberal bias. I am not sure why you find that so difficult to comprehend, given the crap gay people have had to endure from the Right. And lose the pious BS. You are not above dishing out a bit of personal abuse and 'personal interest' yourself when it suits you.

I'd be happy if they'd just secede from RJ.

When logic suggested to me that these anti-gay members were Right Wing plants, as the Family Research Council now admits, these guys went ballistic at me.

I was delusional, I was paranoid, I was hysterically attacked by them in every possible way. A favorite of theirs was to make me out as Hyacinth from the Keeping Up Appearances Brit sitcom. And now we know why - anything to destroy the online reputation of anyone who suggested they were here with an anti-gay outside agenda, who lifted their masks to reveal their real selves & purposes.

In a way I suppose we should be flattered, that we were considered important enough for the FRC & NOM to assign these fifth-columnists to us. But I have no doubt they will be back with new tactics, as soon as they get their revised instructions.

They get some perverted pleasure in spreading radical, right wing, conservative, Republican, religious nut lies and propaganda. Some of them actually think they can sway Democrats to vote for Republicans (never gonna happen). And, some of them just like to stir up shit, hoping to get an angry reaction (we just laugh at them).

So, with the election over, and their side losing, badly, they've retreated to their lonely trailer parks to lick their wounds.

But, they'll be back, with more bullshit and nonsense.

lol, well one of them certainly continues to babble with stuff like this:

"As for social liberties? What would the Republicans really have done? Sure there are some retrograde views in the party, but those are becoming increasingly rare - and increasingly so in the future - with limited powers to even act on them."

    ..starts with an R icon_wink.gif

Yes, and you are a real person, NOT a "sock puppet" account.

Your verasity I have never doubted (unlike others that are suddenly absent).

YOUR RESPONSE WAS QUICK.....but still leaves a little room for doubt.

Recently I posted something similar to KissTheSky's speculation.

YES, IT DOES SEEM CRAZY doesn't it....that someone could find a sucker---or a foolish organization who would pay them to post rightwing drivel on this site.

The idea is so absurd that you'd think it would have been dismissed.

INSTEAD, I got 7 emails from the most active Conservaposse member trying to convince me that he was REAL....and that he or no one else he knew was paid to post here. His tone alternated between threatening and very, very friendly.

    WHY THE EFFORT?

My own response to nonsensical speculation would have been to completely ignore it. Sure, I probably would have called the member CRAZY.......but I would not have invested the effort to prove myself.

    CURIOUS, isn't it?
