The effects of R-74 on Washington

Not even a stroke can contain the happiness of John McCluskey, 76, and Rudy Henry, 78, who will finally be able to marry after 53 years together! No longer will John have to explain what a domestic partnership means to healthcare providers as he cares for Rudy.

Guys like these are the ones I try to remember every time someone asks me why I care so much about Gay Marriage/Equal Rights. There are men who have been together longer, suffered through the worst of gay history, and had never had the option of having the same kind of security, insurance, and peace of mind with finances that their heterosexual equals have; and For The Love Of Life, these men, and elderly lesbians, also deserve as much! Even if the majority of the gay population doesn't get married for another 10 years after we're allowed claim to our Rights, it Will Be Worth It if those whom came before can finally have something to share between each other. That is what makes them happy, let them have that.
This makes me so happy! =')

My thoughts exactly. If anyone has any doubts about whether this fight is worth it, stories like this are really inspiring us to soldier on.

OP: This is a great story, btw, thanks for posting it.

And so sad that our dear President has said that this "basic human right" is up to each state to decide, and that these two dear people have no legal married status under the Obama Federal government.
