ESO's "Very Large Telescope" in Atacama Desert --Opens New Age of Discovery

"each 8.2m diameter Unit Telescopes can obtain images of celestial objects as faint as magnitude 30 in a one-hour exposure, which corresponds to seeing objects that are four billion (four thousand million) times fainter than what can be seen with the unaided eye."

I find it so great we have had thinkers and scientists that have postulated, using some information and knowledge of physics to determine what they THINK about our universe, then these advances come along and prove them right. Our minds can achieve such great things...I am no scientist, but love reading this stuff, gleaning information that I can, improving my understanding of our place in creation.
