The State governments filed the petitions, or groups of individuals from each of those States?

I'm not sure but I would have to guess that it would be individuals within the state. I mean seriously, New York, and Oregon...hehe

    Found one of them:

    The Texas Nationalist Movement

So, not the State governments, which makes the article poorly written in that regard.

Here, this one is a bit more detailed. icon_wink.gif

Interestingly some of the States where these petitions have been filed are those that actually receive more in Federal handouts than they pay in Federal taxes.

I'd support the Federal government booting them out. Then see the chaos when Medicare, Social Security and other Federal programs are terminated for those citizens. And there's no money to maintain the current Interstate highway system, and the FAA no longer runs their airports. And the US closes all the Federal military installations in those States, and takes all the troops and Federal employees out with their incomes.

Yeah, go ahead - make my day! icon_biggrin.gif

I would think it is groups of individuals. Way too early in this process for sstate legislatures to become involved. First, there must be a "preparation of muscle." Off to the gym we go.

These conservative fucktards want a civil war. I'd hate to say it, but I think we should start making these people disappear before they destroy the country.

United we Stand, Divided we Fall.

Petition all they want. The Union will Stand.

Lincoln would be disappointed in these folks.

Why can't we just send all the right-wingers to Texas and let it secede?

That's obviously the most logical solution. Then they can breed with Mexicans and find out what hard work is all about for a change. icon_twisted.gif

I wonder if Canada wants them?

(And note, small-government GOPers: to get into Canada, you need a government-issued passport!)

Let them go, they could rename themselves "The Illiterate States of the Klu Klux Klanistan."
Of course, with no federal taxes supporting their bullshit lifestyles, those states would soon become more desperate than a Mexican whore without a donkey. That's when we real Americans get to watch them beg to come back and united we all get to say no thank you.
Least educated states unite, and welcome yourselves to The Illiterate States of of the Klu Klux Klanistan.

White House to Consider Petition Signed by 73,000 for Texas Secession from the U.S.; Rick Perry Takes Stand

I say we let them go but they have to pay us for the land and resources. And we should use that money to reduce our debt.

Wasn't our country torn apart from 1861 to 1865 over this very stupidity?
