Democrats should demand that all future debates on every level of government begin with, "do you think women have some mystical power to stop a rapist sperm from impregnating her, or any other stupid rape fantasies you wish to share with the audience?" At that point, we can all sit back and watch republicans lose elections nationwide.

Scanning the reader comments following the article, I see many suspect that the thing that really upsets Hughes is Republican candidates openly talking about what the Party advocates anyway. Think it, but don't say it out loud, don't "spill the beans" and let the public know what your real agenda is.

In that case, keep talking Republicans. Let's see the real you, what your national & state platforms advocate. Sorry, Ms. Hughes, but silence is just a cover-up. If you don't like the message, then change the policy, not muzzle those only speaking candidly about what Republicans really endorse.

    YES, I agree.
Karen Hughes was always a radical right wing Republican ass.

Nothing focuses the mind like LOSING.

We're hearing this voice of obvious and sane outrage from Karen Hughes

ONLY BECAUSE her team members LOST.

If somehow Akin, Mourdock and the others had somehow won their races...

Karen Hughes would be expressing her concerns very quietly, if at all.

IS SHE ON RECORD with any of this outrage...

    BEFORE THE ELECTION?

Good for her, but it's several weeks too late. Many of these Republican talking heads who are now having to say their mea culpas, of necessity, should have expressed their disgust and disdain for the things that were being said in the weeks leading up to the election. When we see someone being robbed in the street, we call 911 during the commission of the crime; we don't call 911 after the perpetrator has absconded with his loot.

Here is a navy chaplain that believes that the Republicans lost because Romney was too moderate.

"A former Navy chaplain who was forced out of the service for praying in Jesus' name while in uniform believes the GOP will continue to lose until it selects candidates who can win the support of evangelical Christians."

This fool is completely out of touch with the general population because he has spent most of his life isolated within the evangelical christian community and within the military.
