The right wing Christians are freaking out over UPS

It would be a good idea to contact UPS and thank them for what they have done to try and counter some of their nasty phone calls and emails they are sending them:

This is grand because it's right behind Intel pulling out of funding. What's scary though is the possibility that they will fess up all pretend-like only to garner more funding.

It's just a play on a line from Truck Turner: "They better learn to sell pussy in Iceland!"

I always think of it when a bitch gets put to the curb.

You can send an email to UPS here:

    Here is my email:

I want to thank you for deciding to not to continue to give money to organizations that support discrimination, such as the Boy Scouts of America. There are other children's organizations that provide the same service without the discrimination, such as the Navigators USA.

Thank you again. I appreciate doing business with you and will continue to do so.

I got more enjoyment reading the religious homophobes freak out then the actual announcement by UPS.

"So UPS sides with supporting perverts and child molesters. I think It's clear what we all need to do. Adios UPS."

That one had me crackin up.icon_lol.gif

Merck Foundation Severs Boy Scouts Funding Over Anti-Gay Policy

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/10/merck-foundation-boy-scouts-funding-gay-ban_n_2270863.html

"The Merck Foundation believes that it is critical to honor and support a foundational policy of diversity and inclusion in all funding decisions. Recently, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) restated its policy that excludes members on the basis of sexual orientation. The BSA’s policy of exclusion directly conflicts with the Merck Foundation’s giving guidelines.
We know that many of you have personally contributed to the BSA and that this decision may be upsetting to some of you. However, we cannot continue to provide support to an organization with a policy that is contrary to one of our core beliefs. We remain ready and willing to re-consider our funding position in the event that the BSA were to revise its policy."

I may not like the BSA position but I am totally milking my Eagle Scout for a job. Is that bad of me?

Very nice!!! Thanks Meta, and will do.

More companies and groups based on discrimination are losing supporters and money every day.

No. Being an Eagle Scout tells a potential employer about YOU, and the commendable personal development you experienced in the process, and your excellence of achievement. Most employers will not associate you with the institutional failures of the Boy Scout hierarchy.

Family Research Council Dumps UPS For Citing Anti-Gay Bias In Severing Boy Scouts Funding

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/12/ups-family-research-council-boy-scouts-anti-gay_n_2287595.html

No loss there. I doubt the anti-gay group, the Family Research Council even ships very much.

Oh no...next you know...the KKK will stop using UPS! ;)

Any organization which espouses hate is anathema to corporate social responsibility and brand. BSA's anti-gay hate policies are all that need to be changed.

"They call it non-discrimination, but it effectively discriminates against organizations which have a moral creed or a faith creed that is against homosexuality"

This is the dumbest thing I've read today. "BUT IF YOU DON'T SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO ARE INTOLERANT, DOESN'T THAT... MAKE YOU INTOLERANT....?"

    Idiots.

No. Being an Eagle Scout tells a potential employer about YOU, ...
At this point in BSA's game, and as employers are adopting anti-discrimination policies, telling them about "YOU" as an Eagle Scout says nothing more than "I support discrimination."

Be careful what advice you give. The BSA no longer holds the clout it used to hold. icon_wink.gif

BTW, I happen to work for one of the growing number of companies that will no longer hire a BSA member.
