    This short article ends with:

"Voters, in the exit polls and in the voting booth, expressed what they wanted out of this election: "Work harder on creating jobs and holding the line on prices, because economic worries are more important than cutting the deficit right now." That's what the next four years needs to be focused on."

    SORRY, MY FELLOW VOTERS...

....THERE WILL BE CUTS TO PROGRAMS...

    ALONG WITH TAX HIKES.

If Robin Hood were president with this kind of deficit, he'd have to make the same decision.

I agree that we can't cripple our recovery but cutting or taxing too much----

...BUT WE STILL HAVE TO PAY DOWN THE DEFICIT.

NO CHOICE. And we can't pretend our debts aren't real if we want to maintain a credit rating.

    "That was 2011.
The question now is how much of that is still on Obama's table. "

It's way, way, way too early to start running around like Southbeach Chicken Little, screaming that the sky is falling.

This explains where Obama was coming from when he made comments about cutting social security around Aug/Sep of last year.

It would be an utter disaster for Democrats if they do the bidding of the Republicans, especially after last week's election. I don't think we're going to go there.

Hmmm....actually it just highlights the willingness and determination of the Democrats to work with the Repubs. The Repubs, however, have only appeared to be recalcitrant and obstructionist, and this article indirectly embarrasses them further.

We know we have to keep Obama's feet to the fire. We pushed him left on gay marriage (with an assist from Joe Biden the Great) and we dispatched Mitt Romney. We are more than up to the task.

Social Security and Medicare are not going to be sacrificed so billionaires people can pocket more money. Period.
