Alright I used to be fit in high school with swimming but now have gained some weight from not having time to go to the gym, not too much but have a little bit of a belly that I am annoyed with. I am roughly 6ft tall and weigh 185. Need advice on cutting the belly fat and bulking up arms and really every where. Would like to get toned again. I know my biggest problem is that for some dumb reason i am shy about doing weight lifting at gym since im not very big at all muscle wise. Just need to get over it. Also need to fix my diet, Italian here and all my mother and grandmother fix is amazing pasta and other awesome food and I have no self control when it comes to it. Any advice/help would be awesome thx

Sounds like you just need to grow some balls and put on your big girl panties and do it.

Have me over to check out their cooking so that I'll be better able to guide you. It's really not desirable to give advice blindly.

Shy about lifting weight in the gym????? Why? I am overweight and I go to the gym . Why should I care about what other people say. Some guy even , helping me with my workout. Of course there those bodybuilder/gym rat who look at me like some kind of alien. But that is their problem . I pay my gym fee just like everbody esle.

Judging by your profile picture it seems like you're a mesomorph with good genetics. If I can get my scrawny ass in the gym, you definitely shouldn't have a problem. I was barely able to do 10 push ups at 145 pounds before I started lifting. Just start off with machines for the first week or so and then gradually move to free weights once you get comfortable in the gym.

i used to be very shy about going in the weights section of the gym. i still am if i go to a new gym but i get over it quickly now.

guess my fear before were "what if i can't lift a decent about like the other guys?, "what if i drop the weight on myself and everyone laughs at me?", etc. what helped me get over it was gymming with a friend who had gym experience, and working out at times the gym would be quiet.
hopefully this will help you out icon_smile.gif

Paleo diet and varied workouts. Don't do too much cardio, it will burn fat and lean muscle mass. Do your weights slow and don't over weight them. Slow control and form trumps all!
