Aside from the facilities (and it depends on your own wants and needs) the biggest thing for me is service. I'm going to be spending a lot of time and money at the facility so I want to be treated right.
For example, I'm currently back in my home town whilst preparing for my new graduate job starting in January. Part of this requires significant gym and swimming so I went to visit all the fitness centres in my town (approx
- out of those 8 only one offered me a tour and asked about my personal needs before working out an appropriate plan etc for the time I am here. They all welcome me by first name before I hand them my membership card every time, and they make sure to say goodbye.
What this means to me is that they are 100% concerned with their members well being and development and are will to do anything to help you along.
Too many gyms these days fail to treat their customers right.
