Seeing as I had a GF 6 months ago I think i've made a lot of progress this year. Part of it has a lot to do with you guys. Hearing all the awesome stories of self acceptance and interacting with you guys really helped me come to terms with who I am. So thanks for that. But this post is just to say that I came out to my first friend last weekend. She reacted totally awesome about it. I'm sure coming out to my guy friends will be a lot harder but if everything keeps going how its going now, I'm sure i'll be able to manage. Hell, at this rate... I could be out to my mom by New Years.

    That's awesome !

Glad to hear it went well and gave you confidence for the remaining steps. Telling my mom was probably the hardest step of it all, yet the most relieving icon_smile.gif

Good luck ! May this be the year 0 of your new magnificent life ;)

Thanks. Yea i'm most nervous about how the family will take it. My immediate family i'm sure will be fine, but were also very close to all 2947839 of our other relatives (grandparents, cousins, aunts uncles etc) and statistically speaking there's bound to be some of them that don't approve.
Either way i'm really close to my mom so i'm sure it will be a huge relief when I tell her and she can help me decide how to break it to everyone else.

can do the old joke... tell everyone you have cancer and you're dying then tell them just kidding i'm just gay... they'll be relieved that you're not dying...

i wish you luck... if they're good people they're not gonna care... and if anyone cuts you out then they're not worth having in your life

That is great to hear! Coming out to your guy friends may not be as hard as you think. Sometimes some of the most accepting people are people that you would assume would be against it based on stereotypes.

Good job! The first one always takes a lot more courage than the rest. And it seems you've made it over the hump.
