I'm checking out supplements to boost metabolism, not for weight loss, but for energy. One of the supplements I read about was CoQ10. Can anyone confirm or deny its effectiveness and/or recommend other supplements that will give me more energy during the say and during my workout?

I'm definitely no expert on this, but I feel like CoQ10 isn't really understood that well and has lately been pegged as one of those miracle supplements that everyone needs, without enough scientific study.

I think a lot of people like nitric oxide in their pre workout stuff because it helps promote blood flow during a workout.

    Any other ideas, anyone?

Here are a number of scientific papers on PubMed that associate q-10 with fitness words, like hypertrophy (Strength training typically produces a combination of two different types of hypertrophy). I tried it for a month, but didn't feel like a miracle yet.

Also try herbs like ginseng, green tea, yerba mate, This page shows scientific research on fitness topics that could be useful:

I worked for a medical company as a salesman that exclusively sold CoQ10 and I honestly questioned its effectiveness. They focused only on making sure we knew how to manipulate people in to buying the product. Actual knowledge of the product...they were just like brick walls and tight lipped. If it does actually work, then yeah, it's an awesome product. It's best to find the most natural and organic version that is water soluble (or however that is spelled)
