If you could go back and give your younger self a piece of advice what would it be?

I think I'd go back to 7th grade and not get in my first fist fight. I beat the shit out of my friend for stealing my Yugi-oh cards and feel pretty terrible about it.

I would also tell myself not to care so much of what others think. I'm pretty good about it now but was terrible about it back in Jr. High and High School

    1) Don't give a FUCK what anyone thinks of you or what you like. It took me until I was 17 to only start to realize that and spent way too much of my youth trying to be like everyone else and still an outcast.

    2) Looks are not everything. When I was younger (and sometimes now) I'd get really flustered about people looking at me and thinking that I was hideous and/or didn't belong because I didn't look "good." I'd re-assure my younger self on that so much.

    3) TRY THE THINGS THAT YOU LIKE. I missed out on music, performing arts and so much more because I was such an idiot to try and be like everyone else.

    4) Don't try to please other people before you take care of yourself. Too many times when I was younger I'd go out of my way to make other people happy but I was sad inside... this applies especially when the assholes were just that to me after I was nice to them.

    5) Make better use of your time. Yeah I wasted a lot of it when I was younger.

    6) It's OK to be gay, you're not a diseased sinner or anything of the sort.

    7) SPEAK YOUR MIND. When I was younger, I used to keep quiet on how I felt. Now... not so much. But if I spoke my mind when I was younger, things might have been better for my family life.

That's all I can think of now... great thread Josh! Love these threads where I can think about stuff like this and get it off of my chest.

    1) Don't go to IIT-ID. Take the scholarship to New College.

Not that I regret my life at all but just about everything about it would have been different had I listened to my guidance counselor and made that choice.

stop caring now what people think. You'll be happier.

Don't waste your life looking after people.

Don't trust so easily, it's going to cost you something you weren't willing to give up.

Don't ever take science subjects. Take what you always wanted to do and don't be afraid to tell your parents that.
