Romney has to get his head out of the sand and accept defeat with dignity.

Wow...so much sour grapes with the Republicans...whether it's Karl Rove refusing to concede when things became clear that Obama was going to be re-elected, or Paul Ryan insisting that Obama has no mandate, or now Romney's whine.

It reminded me of the aftermath of the 1995 Quebec Independence referendum, when now disgraced former Quebec Premier Jacques Parizeau made a remark that Quebec independence was defeated by "money and the ethnic vote." He was of course talking about the Anglophones and Allophones, who turned out in record numbers and voted overwhelmingly with older Francophones to reject Quebec independence.

It seems like clowns like these guys simply cannot lose gracefully. It's not in their nature!

So I suppose the budget wrangling will continue!

Maybe what Obama and the Democrats need to do is call the Republican bluff: make a fair proposal, hold the line, and if the fiscal cliff is coming up, remind everyone that Obama won the election, the Democrats in the House and Senate races BOTH had more votes than the Republicans, and when the military budget is being gutted, remind everyone it's because the Republicans want to protect tax breaks for the wealthy...and are trying to play chicken with the fate of the country!

Is this the equivalent of Nixon saying the Press wouldn't have him to kick around anymore, after he lost the 1962 California election for Governor? Following his loss to Kennedy for the White House in 1960?

Of course we know Nixon did come back, like the undead, to win the Presidency in 1968 and again in 1972, to the everlasting shame of this country. Fortunately Romney may be too old to try again in 2016.

So what ego defense mechanism is displayed here. November 6 must've really done a number to his mental stability.

"“You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told you’re now going to get free health care, particularly if you don’t have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family, in perpetuity, I mean, this is huge,” he said. "

Uh huh, only if you make less than 9,000 dollars a year. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Good point. I don't get why Democrats (and I say this as a Democrat) are so opposed to getting rid of tax deductions for the wealthy. Call the Republicans' bluff and offer drastic cuts in rich people's deductions. I mean, do the rich really need mortgage deductions for their 2nd mansions?

I am hoping that, now that he has been re-elected and is a "lame duck", our President will develop a stiff back bone, call the GOP's bluff and "draw a line in the sand" over many issues that the Republicans did their level best to block during the last 4 years/

Actually he is right about all those things. People will vote for what is in their interest, if they are getting something -- however, he fails to realize that the social views is what did him in.

No, what did him in was:

    --The 47% speech
--Planning to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid
--Planning to not raise taxes on the rich
--Not releasing his incriminating income tax returns
    --Having numerous foreign bank accounts
--Making a fortune taking over companies, closing them, and firing all the employees
--His history of being strongly for and strongly against every single issue
--His promise to cease funding of the PBS
--Promising "12 million new jobs," but giving zero details on how he planned to do it
    --Lies
    --Lies
    --Lies

I think it is time for a tax increase for Mr. Romney. It is time to make rich bastards like him pay their fair share to run this great country rather than being allowed legal loopholes to get around the system.

Mock, did you know that 28% of Mitt's 47% pay payroll taxes? They're called the working poor and require assistance on top of their jobs to survive. icon_wink.gif

Romney seems intent on damaging the GOP as much as possible, by pissing off every minority group he can think of that doesn't belong to his straight white male country club of the filthy rich.
It seems he's not content with losing just one election, he's helping the Republicans lose the next one, too. icon_lol.gif
Keep talking, Mitt, you're just digging yourself deeper.

I think he's doing damage control (I don't know what for since his political career is over), explaining away how he wasted hundreds of millions of dollars of donors' money.
