Not to make light of the article, but I will always remember the Simpsons episode where Homer, looking at South America pronounced Uruguay as "You are Gay" and giggled. icon_biggrin.gif

It would be awesome to see Uruguay make marital equality the law of the land. This could possibly help expand gay marriage throughout South America. However we have to be ready to hear fierce opposition from closet case international otherwise known as the Roman Catholic Church. Most people in Uruguay and throughout South America are Roman Catholic. So don't be surprised if Pope Nazi starts lecturing the catholic faithful in Uruguay about the supposed dangers of gay marriage to their society.

I was just in Uruguay. People were incredibly open and friendly towards homosexuals!

If Spain and Argentina can ignore the Catholic Church, I don't see why Uruguay can't.
