So like a good boy I am forcing myself to actually take a guy out on a date (before sleeping with him), and I've come to realize the only idea of first dates I can think of are the basic/ boring lets go to dinner.

My question is - whats something a bit different and memorable?

We're meeting this Saturday so if needed it could be an all afternoon or earlier kind of activity.

On a first date I usually go for coffee and have a chat. I'm pretty charming in person so that usually works. I don't try to sleep with them on the first date though, so that might help my charm.

Hah. I've done that before. umm... We ended up underwear shopping... then modeling the underwear... then taking the underwear off. The innocent shopping idea didn't seem to work....

How about an old fashioned kind of date: suggest to him going out to the Kemah Boardwalk. Have a little lame fun, ride the bullet, stroll around people watching, try to win a prize or two in the arcade. Eat some junk food.
Let your conversation go in any direction it wants to.

LOL Kemah. That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I forget what is outside the loop here.

Me too, I prefer coffee for a first date, dinner is too much. brunch/lunch/dinner i reserve for second dates.

That actually sounds like a really good idea! Might be a winner, if galleria ice skating dosn't tempt him more.

Invite him to naked yoga. Really separates the men from the boys right from the get go. Lol

This is rivalry week. How about going to a football game? Unless you root for the opposing teams, this is usually a good indicator of your interests.

That kind of depends on the guy. My favorite first date was one where we went paintballing.

The weirdest idea I had for a first date was to visit what we call the "catacombes" in Paris. It is a very old underground where human remains are piling up.

The guy told me afterwards he thought it was really weird but we dated quite a long time.
