    No. I couldn't and wouldn't want to.
Sex is an important part of life - it's a basic need.
I plan to enjoy it as long as possible.

Yes, sex is a big part of my life! It fuels my passions, my art, my muses!! I wud fail miserably without it! Although the fantasy & angst & longing for it or someone (the ideal other) can also fuel one's art......

I could totally live without it. I couldn't live without intimacy though.

Sex is not necessary for primal survival, so yes, everybody in the entire world could survive if they for some reason were never able to have sex again ever.

McQueen's right. Sex is something primal in nature but not for survival. I think dolphins and humans are the only two species that have sex purely for entertainment.

That being said: it would be difficult but I could try haha!

I haven't been sexual with anyone but myself in any way shape or form for over a decade. That may change one of these days but I'm in no hurry. Unfortunately, although I might joke around about it, sex isn't something I take casually.

I don't have sex now, I'd rather not give up smacking Johnny behind the ear.

I could live without having sex or masturbating, but I'd rather not. When I was a monk I took my vows of celibacy and chastity seriously. I did not have any sexual relations during that time. I did not even masturbate for 6 years...Years!
I learned a lot about intimacy during that time, and learned many ways to express / increase intimacy between myself and others, but never did the expression involve genitals.
So, having lived a celibate/chaste life once, I could do so again. But, intimacy expressed with a physical/sexual component is AWESOME!!!
As for masturbation.. sometimes it becomes habitual for me... I do it "just because". Sometimes I realize it's been days (weeks?) since last time, so I jack one out just to do it. Clean out the pipes...

I think jayhusker is an exception and not the rule: I've met enough priests and monks to know that "vows of celibacy" are made to be broken.

    Personally, I wouldn't even try.

    Isn't that called "marriage?"

    *rimshot*

Seriously, I've gone long periods of time without. Decades. I was pretty much an untouchable in my youth, for various medical and other reasons. Just get obsessed with work or something. Read a lot of books. Lay awake in bed pondering the mysteries of the universe.
