I always find it amazing that this is him as well:

But out of that make up, he is way hotter than I would have imagined Gambit would be.

His power was too similar to Cyclops'. Projected energy blast, whether focused from the eyes or channeled through an object makes for a pretty similar scene.

I've read all the stories on that. Fact is--there are just so many in the X-men universe, and it's too hard to have a full plot and character development, but it's great to have these prequal movies now to do just that.

Gambit was never included because the film makers didn't want to have him in unless they could give him a role big enough to be worthy of his character. He was slated to be in at least one scene in X2: he was to have a cameo during the scene where all the mutants are being "attacked" by Professor X. He was going to be lying facedown on a poker table with his signature cards spread out in front of him. However, the filmmakers cut this (I don't know if it was actually shot or not), deciding that if they were going to have him in, they were going to have him in for real.

Got this information from the commentary track.

X-Men question?>>>. I enjoyed the first 2, but I wonder why Storm's powers seem so limited compared to what the original character is capable of doing??

Storm is definitely my favorite and I've thought about this a lot. I think the issue here is she's almost too powerful, she literally doesn't need the rest of the tram to get the job done. She can wreak havoc pretty easily, so to further the stories in both the comics and movies the villian always "takes her out" first so there can actually be a fight. Hence the claustrophobia, the extreme emotional awareness etc., all of these are plot devices to keep the character in check and spotlight all of the other characters. Otherwise it would be the storm show all the time (which i wouldn't mind...)

I did have major issues with Halle Berry cast as Storm though. Storm is supposed to be regal: she was worshiped as a goddess, a former princess etc. I understand they wanted the "star" but a younger Angela Basset type would have really been able to knock that character out of the park. Halle comes across almost waif like.

Sorry I wasn't specific enough: I meant that the claustrophobia is a device used to "depower" her in the comics as well. I'm well aware she's claustrophobic in the comics but thanks ;)

Yeah but if they do it right he'll be scarred and ugly as sin... and have to wear a mask.

They probably WON'T do it right since they already have Gambit somehow playing int he origins of Wolverine, which... isn't even close to the case.

not that i'm complaining because it'll be cool either way... I'm just saying...

They aren't doing Deadpool as the masked character from the comics. His role is more of a cameo, and he's just wearing red. Blob & Beak and apparently Emma Frost in diamond form are in it as well.

I think your right if she had her powers that she has in comics like spider man did. She would be a solo act. They let her levitate but she can fly like superman. WTF

Wow, Rodrigo does have the "look" of the cajun(?) Gambit. I had fantasized that Josh Holloway, the bad-boy Sawyer character from "Lost" tv series would be a good choice.

I just hope they don't butcher that up. I love Deadpool since he's a major bad ass with a sick and twisted sense of humor. Something a cook like me would love. LOL.

As for your thing mikemikemike, Storm flies due to the power of wind. Since she has the power of weather, she can use the wind to help her keep afloat and thus give her the sense of flight.

I know my comic books.

in the Ultimate Universe, Colossus had a crush on Wolverine...the typical gay crush on a straight dude...but it was pretty hot. I wish they'd add that story line, but I'm sure they won't. Can you imagine?

Yes...yes I can imagine. In fact, in the script for X-men 3 I wrote in my head, Colossus and Wolverine were going at it with each other in the danger room, when Cyclops unexpectedly walked in.....and joined them.
