With the popularity of the site i'm really surprised that RJ doesn't have an app yet for smartphones and tablets, or does anyone know if they're in the works with one?

It's a lot more difficult than people think to create an app like that. Personally, I'd prefer a mobile website geared to smartphones and tablets, rather than having to install another app. We've been talking about it for a long time now, but I've never heard that anything is in the works. The site could use an overhaul.

This would probably be better than an app.

I'll never understand the fascination with apps myself.

The ones that ask about the apps are the ones that use the IM and chatroom features the most. The forums operate relatively well in a mobile browser, but things could be more touch friendly.

I'd have thought the distinct lack of any good web based apps would have been a massive hint.

    they suck.

IOS or Android they still suck.

They suck so hard and so bad that no one wants to make them and those who don't make'em are making ones that freakin suck!

Native app is faster, more resource efficient, capable of making better use of available hardware and just a damn sight faster.

Shit even facebook has finally seen the light and gone native!
