I'm not really proud about being gay because I've never had a good experience with being gay yet.

However the sometimes shallow nature of the community, combined with the stereotypes and habit of being quick to respond negatively does make me a bit ashamed.

I know responding negatively is a universal trait, but that doesn't make it right.

I may get some crap for my comments, but whatever. It would just kinda prove my points.

nah I agree. Gay is famous for being catty and cat fights. Sometimes you just need to throw some grenade to kill and the feisty one.....

    jk lol

Sad but true, only the dramatic one will standout. They are fun to watch but a hell to deal with if you are in their drama cycles.

Along this same lines can people really say they are proud to be human or male or female. What exactly is there to be proud of? What exactly is there to be ashamed of? And if you are ashamed, what exactly was it that you did personally that made you ashamed? There now explain why are proud or ashamed to be gay.icon_mad.gif

As much as people try to deny it there is a shameful part in every community, gay is not an exception. But we have to look over the bright side of the rainbow don't we?

Ok ill take a stab at this.

Being gay is annoying because society as a whole has not fully accepted us and some people are not comfortable with us. Especially if you have a religious/conservative family it is an issue you are going to be dealing all your life. To those who have more liberal families, well you guys are lucky. Also there is the whole issue of coming out and people being surprised that you are gay when they thought you were straight. Also we gays do not have as large percentage of people to date as straight people so finding love I believe is a bit more difficult (just because of the numbers).

But for the positives I believe that gays are light years ahead in terms of our sexuality. It is so easy to have sex and it is so uncomplicated. You can have so much NSA sex if you desire and even threesomse. I see what my hetero friends have to go through to get laid and all the shit women do to them just to get laid and I feel grateful that I am gay. And it is not even women's fault it is just society dictating stupid rules that a girl is labeled a whore if she sleeps with too much people. Also I think that if we do find the person we love we can share a lot of the same hobbies like sports or fishing (in my personal case) and this bonds you closer. Not the same for heteros. Also I think that being gay makes us much more open minded and accepting of other people and other cultures since we have been rejected at least by someone in some point in our lives.

Good: I haven't had the same psychosocial stages as my heterosexual counterparts.

Bad: I haven't had the same psychosocial stages as my heterosexual counterparts.

Good: We don't have to worry about accidentally getting a chick pregnant.

Bad: There aren't enough of us.
