No, this isn't about iraq, don't get excited.

It's about the new mmorpg about to be released... and I was wondering, who else will be picking this up?

I'm thinking about finding a way to play on the US servers, as the euro servers get on my nerves.

Hell no. Wouldn't touch that community with a 50 foot pole. Just look at the WoW pvp boards and multiply the stupid by 3million.

^ That's all that game is about.

Deep down, a lot of people are hurting from AoC. As for WAR, I am not sure yet, buuuuuuuuuuuuut prolly not. Blizzard has an uncanny ability to bring people away / back from competition and 3.0 will most likely be released with WAR

I most *definitely* will be picking this one up. I've had it pre-ordered it for a year and a half now. icon_biggrin.gif

I'm going to go ahead and step up to Mythic's defense here. I was a huge Dark Age of Camelot player. DAoC was old-school, and was the first major MMO to sell the whole "Realm vs. Realm" system (as opposed to focusing on individual PVP experience). They've had a looooong time to perfect the system, and just from what I've experienced in beta in this game, they've done a fantastic job of tuning and generally enhancing the experience without compromising what made the original RvR system so fantastic.

I really beseech you guys to give this one a shot. Mythic has only ever had one other game to its name - DAoC - but it did that game very, very well. They've built a name for themselves as a company that knows how to listen to its fan base.

Take it from a long-time Mythic supporter and fan of the original Warhammer universe: this one's gonna' be a keeper! icon_cool.gif

I'm proud to say I dropped the WoW addiction and have no intention of anything other than some occasional community first person shooting action. Otherwise I'll stick to my civilization, and hopefully Starcraft 2.

No offense to the many players out there still but looking back and saying we got server first Rag/Nef/C'Thun/KZ/...... kills doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore. I shake my head and wonder why I wasted 2 years of my life icon_confused.gif

The only MMO (not so much RPG) game I've ever played is Second Life. I was semi-famous there from 2004-2007, but I got sooo burnt out on it. I built pretty shiny, made the hottest male skins, ran an infamous gay club, but all the drahma, flamewars, pseudo-mafias, gay mafias (yes, them too), stalkers, etc., got extremely old. I now operate under an innocuously unknown alt who only builds pretty corporate SL campuses at 500 meters. Now, I pretty much just play Wii and troll the RJ forums looking for menz to pwnz. icon_biggrin.gif

That said, it's a pretty sure bet that I won't be playing AoR.
