    Hi guys,

    I was 165 pounds
I have been doing running for about 4 months(one hour/ 3 times a week). I lost about 6-7 pounds. Than I started to join the gym and doing treadmill for 30min(6.5mph) and then doing like totally 800 sit-up and lifting weight(15/15 pounds) 300 for shoulder and chest muscle. Pretty much what I did in this month. And for the first two and half weeks, I lost like 10 pounds. I weight 148 pounds now.

The question is I want to put on more muscle on my abs and shoulder and chest now.

I read the workout plan for the meal. But I kind worry about I will gain weights back but not gain muscle. Because I lost weights in a short period of time.

Any suggestion what I should do or what I should pay attention now? Either in meal eating or exercise.

    Thank you for your time

Look at one of the programs offered here on RJ for whatever your goals might be. Good stuff!

If your diet is really clean, what you will gain is lean muscle, not fat.

800 sit ups may give a lean look but won't bulk the abs. That needs 'Leg-ups' with additional weights in your ankles, do low reps but heavier weights to bulk up the mid and lower abs.

Foods and types of exercises are the biggest factors in shaping your muscle, look, and health. This is called epigenetics. Push to your edge in both strength training (heavy weight lifting), high reps (lower weights for definition), and flexibility (for long muscles).

For foods that might help each fitness topics, this table points to research that might help alot:

Also note that testosterone starts to decrease after 25 use herbs that increase your testosteron, like mustard, ginseng, horseradish, cayenne pepper, raw vegie juice (not v8 in a can! ) ... good luck.
