    Bobby,

    Thank you for posting that.

Not only have we have forgotten what it all cost, we have forgotten that the conditions of revolution where, are, and always will be extreme.

It was never about ennui, it was always about conditions so intolerable that they made going forward impossible.

If anyone asks about the contradictions in Jefferson's own life, it would do to remember that the political struggle wasn't subtle, it was stark.

Those of us who didn't earn the capital of freedom spend it like it was our right of birth and we forget, all too easily, that we have no rights at all expect those we earn and defend.

That bit of video is as inspiring as it is sobering.

How do we judge the state of our union?

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I totally agree with ursamajor---great post Bobby !!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ursamajor asked====How do we judge the state of our union??????>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I think that "the state of our union"/the constitutional democracy of ours is in peril, the bushies/Neocons are threatening it all via using the terrorist problem as an excuse to reduce our freedoms, and to claim powers at the demise of the separation of powers between the executive branch(bush and his chronies), the Congress/Senate, and the Judiciary. Bush has nullified the place of the congress to large degree by signing statements, and treats the judiciary as his private attorney for the purpose of assisting his covering up lawbreaking by him and his neocon department heads. Bush renewed just last week the emergency status of the US which gives him authority to declare marshal law if he so desired, which could lead to his setting aside the constitution and installing his secret "CONTINUITY OF GOVERNMENT"plans/law(bush has refused to share this with the associated congressional committee, saying they lacked proper clearance to share it with them) HOW SCARRY IS THAT !!!!!!!!!??????????????? Our country is headed in the wrong direction with this group in power, and we need to keep McSame out of the white house if we expect to get things heading back toward our constitutional separation of powers and away from a power grabbing executive branch, which could spell the end of our constitutional democracy as we have had up to now. NO ONE SHOULD BE SO NIEVE AS TO THINK THAT IT CANNOT HAPPEN IN THE USA, BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN, ITS HAPPENING RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
