with that much, I could make every member of my family wealthy ... obviously, I would have to hire body guards and go into hiding ... I would start the ball rolling on 7 surrogates and have 7 male heirs ... charity, ya, that's gonna be high on the list, but I'd probably start my own organization instead of giving to one that uses most of the money for administrative costs ...the rest I'll have to play by ear

I'd give a large portion of it to the school system to ensure that the children of tomorrow learn things like grammar and sentence structure.

First thing I'd do is hire a lawyer.

Then I'd collect my winnings discretely.

Then I'd try to live my normal life without many people knowing except for my immediate family.

I would seriously give out a lot to my family and friends. Then I'd probably buy wings, fly into the sun, and not die like Icarus. Although, I'd probably be hit by PaulFlexes while he was on duty ;)

I would lock the ticket in my safe and wait until the last possible minute to collect and kick back and watch the speculation and random people come forward as 'winners' like that woman last year who worked at McDonald's on the East Coast and said she lost her ticket in the store.

Meanwhile, I'd alert my lawyer and CPA and develop a good strategy for when that last minute arrives.

    1. Retain an accountant and a lawyer.
    2. Keep it as quiet as possible.
    3. Set up trusts for several friends, a few family members, enabling any of them to completely recreate their lives as desired.
    4. Create an arts organization to fund artists so that they can create full time vs working day jobs.
    5. Create a few scholarship funds.
    6. Give some $$$ to cutting edge cancer research.
    7. Buy condos in NYC, Atlanta, Miami and LA.
    8. Circle the globe in this order: Spain, Morocco, England, France, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Kenya, South Africa, Seychelles, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, Chile, Argentina, Brazil (Rio and Sao Paulo,) Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, home. (That would be the first of three global excursions.)
    9. Get a "male concierge." (I'm so rich I'm not going to have time to date! If I can get a reeeeally hot one for free, who just wants to go along for the ride a la all of Marc Jacob's side pieces, that's fine too. LOL)
    10. Start a SuperPAC.

Get a financial adviser, a lawyer. Quit my job. Take care of family and friends, give to charity and travel. Find a place to retire to, somewhere nice and warm icon_biggrin.gif

This is what I would do as well, except I would create a huge foundation for educational and charitable purposes and would involve my family in determining which charities/schools/universities to fund and the criteria for them.

I would also be the Koch Bros. worst nightmare.

I was thinking the same with my #10. I was disappointed that none of the visible left leaning gazillionaires were equally vocal as the Kochs. Mind you, they'd have likely faced more public lashing via the tv news orgs vs the mostly online lashings the Kochs get. Still. Grrr. I'd be up for the fight!

in all seriousness, contact my lawyer and an accountant and handle the ingress of funds before filling up a Roth IRA. Pay off my aunt and uncle's house, buy them a new handicap-friendly car (uncle has parkinsons), and get them the best medical help available.

Buy a condo in NYC, New Orleans and house in San Diego. An MX-5 in each driveway, each with FM's Targa package installed. Also Volvo V70R and S60R in NYC with IPD's stage 3 kit installed on each one.

Finally, at the house in San Diego, a Mechatronik M-Coupe

Once I'd sorted all of the residences (renovated, added/subtracted, etc) I'd take my gran on a World Cruise about the Queen Mary 2.

Host a giant orgy where I'd only invite gay body builders, and athletes. lol nah

I'd actually buy a nice place down town near the village, and maybe rent out extra rooms to my buddies or people with similar interests.

There's a row of beautiful 19th century townhouses in the New Orleans French Quarter that I would love to own and restore to their original grandeur. That's where my partner and I would call home when we aren't traveling the world.
