I've been having a series of unrelated dreams that are all so strange.
One was my mother had another child and i was trying to kill it (i'm the youngest)-i'm the youngest it's obvious what that means.
But last night i had a dream i was wrestling with a gorgeous man and i got into it...then it switched to me driving a mini cooper. What IS that?
    Whatever.

My dreams are kinda mess up too. i can only hope it does not reflect who I am. I should write some of the stuffs down, they'd make great movie.

I usually dreams of people go about doing everyday things as if they are ordinary, with a sense of tranquil yet underlying extreme discomfort.
like walk in a room and seeing people talking and chatting, yet a sense of extreme evil only i feel n that room. the most recent one is watching someone de-bone a baby, as if he's just prepping a chicken on cooking show.

Watch what you eat prior to going to sleep. Spicy foods drive my dreams crazy.icon_cool.gif

I had taken a nap after work yesterday and during that nap, I had a dream that I was at Noah's Bagel Shop ordering a whole wheat bagel with low fat cream cheese and tomatoes. So WEIRD!

Listen I had a dream (two nights ago) that me, Jane Seymour and Oprah Winfrey killed a man - he had kidnapped us and was planning to kill us.

And then after, Jane and I sat and ate some Brownies she had made.... icon_eek.gif

    and no...
    no pot was involved. icon_neutral.gif

Open up a copy of Stephen King's Night Shift, and read the story called "Battleground." That was something like what I dreamed last night...

They ALL mean something. Seriously....I had a guy interpret my dreams and sometimes the meaning is soo friggin obvious but because the dream is so weird, i didn't get it.

Hows this for a clearly obvious meaning? I recently had a dream where I was having an argument over something stupid with my former lover, but he sounded and felt like my father............

I haven't had as many weird fucking dreams as I've had weird sucking dreams.

    Badump bump crash.

Seriously, my first erotic dream was in 1985 and I was blowing Bruce Springsteen in the stockroom of the 5&10 where I worked.

But clearly I've missed the point of the thread. I wonder why I have so many dreams with tornadoes in them?

Just a stab at it, but you have two different situations, a grapple and then driving. You dreamed you were wrestling with a gorgeous man and enjoying it, but then you switched over to driving a mini cooper.

If you were wrestling, that suggests a struggle for power and control. You were in contest with an individual, and you were responding because your control was being threatened. Then you were driving, something that you have almost complete control over; drive as fast as you want or listen to whatever on the radio.

Someone challenged your control, you responded, then you took control.

There are probably a lot of different interpretations as far as the imagery goes, but I don't know them all off the top of my head.

That interpretation makes sense...and when i stop to think about, i am kinda struggling with something at the moment. Wow. That was easy! Thanks. In a couple more hours i'll have a brand new dream to tell you all about. Joy.

...or they don't. When I really think about the dreams I remember, even the unusually ones, they usually relate to something I was thinking about, or read, or saw on TV at some point that day and just kinda filed in the back of my mind.

Most recently I dreamt my sister had quadruplets - one blond, one readhead, one with black hair and the youngest was bald. I've been in touch with my sister a lot lately planning my mom's 60th birthday party and my boss is out on maternity leave so there's been lots of "baby talk" around the office.

Don't think thete was much more to it than that.

Did you see a Mini Cooper at some point that day perhaps? Incidentially, I drive a Mini Cooper. Don't have a wrestling singlet though. icon_wink.gif

    Good timing with the post.

The last couple of weeks, I've been dreaming of someone trying to kill me. I'm dreaming of myself sleeping awakened by a noise in the house, I either lay in bed terrified of have jumped out only to find some sort of weapon lying on the floor.

This last dream, once again heard a noise, jumped out of bed and saw bushes rustling by my dining room window. I ran up to the window to look out and suddenly this black silhouette aggressively jumped at the window staring at me! Although I could only see a silhouette, I was able to sense it was someone I knew. Who? Maybe the next dream.

Something tells me it's a friend who died 1 1/2 yrs ago.

Whatever the case, these dreams leave me mentally and physically exhausted in the morning.

... means you should buy a MINI-cooper. I had the exact same dream... then I bought one and the dream stopped recurring.

Sounds like you're trying to make a big, life changing decision that is going to effect you in a big way.

    Chic gym,

Interesting analysis, I have been stuggling lately with such a decision. Is that just a guess or do you like examining dreams?

Seriously, does anyone know what tornadoes in dreams mean? It's the same thing. They approach from the other side of the city, multiple long thin ones. I round up my friends or family and head to the basement. The building shakes. We come out and they sort of dissipate. Then everyone is okay.

C'mon you armchair shrinks. Whaddaya got?

P.S.: Justin I think that was just a hot date dream. :-)

I'm more of a Hillman (see link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Hillman#Dream_Analysis) guy when it comes to dreams. The moment you attempt to "interpret" them, you lose the dream. The dreaming world communicates in its own way and it is the energy of the dream itself that guides us, not to a concrete interpretation, but to our own inner knowing of the dream itself.

To you, XRuggerATX, I say go back to the tornado, dreaming it again and pay closer attention to it. How does it move? What is its color? What is its mood? Where are you in relation to the tornado? How do you become aware of the tornado? What are you doing before/after you encounter the tornado? Where is it going (for you specifically, or are you just in its way)? What is it destroying? How does it leave?

The more you allow the dream to unfold, the deeper you will see into it and understand it for what it is. That's my contemporary archetypal psychology for ya, not simply an armchair reading.

It definitely was...then the guy said...this sin't sexual just wrestling...or something along those lines...which is when i began driving the Mini Cooper. Hmm, let's see what fragmented, subconscious manifestations i can concoct tonight.

I also have tornado dreams all the time. It has to be the only recurring dream I have -- I can't think of any others. I need to read the interpretations that you guys gave Rugger.

Last night, however, I dreamed that I was eating pork. Halfway through my pork chop (or whatever it was), I looked at the meat pulling away from the bone and said to myself "Oh yeah, now I remember why I became a vegetarian." Then I woke up.

I had a tornado dream that recurred for years.

There was a giant Texas tornado (panhandle variety) and it had a sort of ledge attached to the back of it with a tractor seat and a steering wheel.

The dream switches back and forth from me driving the tornado to me being terrified of the tornado.

I too would appreciate knowing what Tornados might symbolize.

They probably symbolize chaos and destruction.... (content of dreams is usually not analyzed THAT deeply anymore- in psychology we talk about Manifest and Latent content of dreams, but usually we don't dig too deeply if something doesn't make any sense.... or if the dream was just outrageous....s ometimes thats just how the body works, and it doesnt mean anything in particular.)

I imagine that if you had a dream where you could drive the tornado, something chaotic was happening in your life and you were trying to take control of it?

    thats my interpretation........

"To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship."

Sound like anyone you know? Any friends or family who are having that type of problem?

I hardly ever remember my dreams. My partner remembers his so vividly and usually they are happy dreams, and I wish I remember mine...unless it turns out they are bad! icon_eek.gif
