Bjork is so innovative And it doesn't hurt that she's married to a hunky internationally-acclaimed artist stud Matthew Barney

I remember seeing "Dancer in the Dark" and thinking boy, that Roseanne sure lost a lot of weight.

This is one of the most beautiful songs. "Nature Boy," melodic and haunting no matter who covers it whether's it's heavily orchestratred or unplugged and stripped down like here:

I think this is one of the most beautiful music videos. Filmed in Iceland, so you know Bjork would approve. The scenery is nice too!

I have yet to see a "Nature Boy" cover done wrong. I even fucked it up horribly once a few weeks ago (my trumpet's D-slide almost fell out mid performance), and someone told me it was one of the most beautiful things she's ever heard. I asked her to get her ears examined.

I know it lapses into bathos, really, but this song is so beautiful to me.

I can feel tears build at "Once I had the rarest rose that ever deigned to bloom...", most of the time.

This is my favourite contemporary orchestral, entitled Passagalia, but it is commonly referred to simply as "The Opera House". Wistful, reflective, evocative of an age long past and its former glories.

Yeah, it's simple and from the score of a SciFi television series, but I like it. So suck on it, bishes.

EDIT: It appears that a variation on the same theme, The Shape of Things to Come, is also appended to the clip. That one is also very pretty, and relates to rebirth, emergence, and a new beginning.

"Ah! Leave me not to pine alone" by W S Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan. Gorgeous. Simple. Sentimental. Moving. It makes me wish I could sing...

Some really great music in this thread.

I have far too many favorite compositions across music genres to really pick one as more beautiful than the other.

Since the majority of the songs here have a haunting quality about them they evoked memories of a song I enjoyed as much for the many possible interpretations of it's meaning as the music itself.

This is a cover of an old Tears for Fears song but I really like this rendition.
