I may be almost 2 weeks late, but I wanted to do it anyways.

The game Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4 Golden (commonly known as Persona 4 Golden) released a few weeks ago on PS Vita.

I know it's still a relatively new system, but who's playing it?

Any persona fans out there celebrating, or planning to get it?

I'm a new fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series (Just tried Persona games so far), but I've been psyched for this ever since Persona 4 The Animation.

So persona fans, show your love for the game.

Here's a persona 4 song I've been obsessed with recently.:

    Thoughts? Opinions? Videos?
Post anything and everything you want, as long as it relates to Persona.

I loved Persona, but I actually haven't heard of this, nor do I have a vita. o3o Is it just a new version of P4?

The music, apart from the velvet room, was the worst part of P3 and P4. It's barely even music. It's putting all of the ingredients in a bowl and calling it a pie.

I wish you had posted the song in a general "what do you think of this song" thread so non-persona-players would give an outside perspective.

The game was good, not too cartoony. But it felt perverted in a lot of ways that wouldn't occur to straight boys. I love the design of monsters & boss battles. And I wanted to stab Nanako's eyes every time she spoke. I don't know why they need to keep "san" and "chan" and "kun" in the game, they just sound awkward in English sentences, and started to grate on my ears.

I enjoyed every minute of Persona 2: Innocent sin. There is a English patch out there for us non Japanese readers. This keeps the voices in Japanese but all text is in English.

I am not fond of Persona 3, the HighSchool cliché is so old and tired. My feathers are still ruffled because they took away the demon pact/conversations that were incredible.

Shin Megami Tensei:Nocturne is my favorite game of all time and it is just a masterpiece! The soundtrack is incredible, too!

@touji: It's supposed to be a remake of P4. they added new social links, and made more of the game playable. It also has a ton of extra content. Check the link below to see the changes.

@Skinny: C'mon, the music wasn't that bad. I actually got really addicted to P3 and P4 music. Maybe it's just not your genre?
Just for the record, the music was from the Anime, not the game. And I think I may actually do what you suggested.
Perverted? It's anime style, have you actually read any manga or watched any anime? Half the time it's fanservice (for straight guys icon_rolleyes.gif ) And it's exaggerated. If you kept to a normal high school life, it would get boring fast.
I really liked the design of some of the Personas, the monsters were good too.
Yeah, Nanako's voice could get annoying as is the case with most children characters in anime.
I liked that they kept the "san" "chan" and "kun." I admit for North Americans its unnecessary, but for big Anime fans like me, it makes it seem more true to form.

@Bustamante: I never played Persona 2, but I disagree with you on Persona 3. High School life is the grounds for most Anime and Manga. I've always been interested in Japan sim games, but they are never released over here. Getting to basically live the life of another character brings the story to life in a way that makes him truely unique and real.

Loved the entire series! I wish I played almost every single one, but I can only say I've only played the first one on Playstation, then moved onto watching the anime series (Persona 4: The Animated Series, loved the OVA/series as well.)

I also played the mmorpg one, Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE.

This is the one I have currently. Got CE with the soundtrack.

I liked it when you just shot yourself in the head with a "gun" and your persona came out...I was disappointed that the 4th one didn't have that, all you did was rip a card in half.

But all the Persona games are well written and directed. I love the controversial topics they put in the games...Person 3- You shoot yourself in the head...Persona 4- A gay male lead character who was discovering himself, and a cross dressing girl who preferred to be/act like a boy...and the bonus with persona 4 was they did it in a very unique way, that is true to real life and didnt go overboard

I kinda like the card. It's more symbolic of summoning your power than shooting yourself. I thought the idea of shooting yourself was pretty cool and all, but every time someone in my family saw it, they would freak out. I loved it though, it was so dark, and daring.

Agreed to the controversy. Shooting yourself to summon power is an awesome representation.
Kanji (the gay character) was kinda cool but they didn't relaly explore it. Then they completely reject it later as just a "phase" icon_rolleyes.gif
Naoto (cross dressing girl) was cool, but they made it seem like she only did it to be respected like a man.
They were definitely well balanced. I'm just glad they even touched upon it.

No not really, they left his sexuality up for players to decide. The main problem is these games are targeted to a male audience and not all young males want a gay lead character. But I believe officially, yes he is gay...i mean running around naked in a bath house saying boys come and get me....no straight guy would say that.

They are in the middle of making Persona 5

Persona 3 and 4 just seemed so childish compared to the incredible games that were Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. The demon contact, which to me was the gem of Persona was rid of and replaced with boring social links and a high school SIM. I do hope Persona 5 returns to the games roots.

Ohhh emmmm GEEEEEE!!!! lol yay Persona fans!! I've only played Persona 3 Portable so far... icon_sad.gif but I thought it was UH-MAZING! icon_smile.gif The girl Main Protagonist 's story is, in my opinion, way better than the males. Her social links are deeper and full of real problems! I definitely teared up a few times. XD
