Been eating nothing but salads with light dressings no carbs and low fat, I better start seeing some results soon or I'm going to eat a whole chocolate mousse cake myself

I hope you're eating some protein & healthy fat with those salads... You'll feel more satisfied and crave that mousse cake less.

That diet won't support a faster metabolism. Your body will start shutting down, and go into reserve mode, storing more and more as fat. You need a balanced diet with protein, and exercise.

I am by no means an expert but here is what has been successful for me. First I figured out what my Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR); the number of calories you'd burn if you stayed in bed all day. We know that 3500 calories equals a pound and I want my weight loss to average 2 pounds per week.

The key is logging everything you eat and that is a pain in the butt until I started using an APP called LoseIt. It is simple to use and easy to log and even has a tool that allows you to scan barcodes. It will automatically calculate your BMR and adjust your calories as your weight goes down.

I have not deprived myself of any food, but find that I am making smarter choices.... would I rather have a big bag of steamed mixed veggies or a small piece of bread? Good luck and will glad to answer any questions about LoseIt or my plan.

I'm on the same diet, and I'm a rail, but there's this donut of fat around my navel that I can't lose. Maybe we're anorexic? Can men be that?

lean meats and veggies are the way to go! keep the carbs whole grain, and the fats healthy, and don't forget to hit the gym!

I don't think that I have ever dieted before. I don't think it is good for you over the long term. It is better to make a lifestyle change and eat healthy on a regular basis.

I was speaking to a competitive body builder on Friday. He specializes in getting cut up. He said that one of the biggest mistakes people make is not to drink enough water. He recommended that when you first get up in the morning to drink down a huge glass of water. He also said that what many people believe to consider their body saying it is hungry is OFTEN TIMES not hunger but actually thirst. He normally eats 6 times a day and has a competition coming up in January. So make sure to drink more liquid.

As we get older, doing a colon cleanse using psyllium husk once in a while helps to also push things through. There are many places where you can get it...if you have a trader joe's they sell it....vitamin stores have it...

Do not starve yourself for food....your body will go into starvation mode....store more.

http://www.healthplusinc.com makes ones that have flavors....find a product that you like and do a search online to find a good price.

How long have you been doing this?

Don't go low fat. Go healthy fats. Your body needs healthy fats to build the hormones needed to regulate the functions of your body.

If you're trying to lose weight, avoid all grains. I dropped 10 lbs just by cutting out breads.
