So this man has his best coaching season in his 8 years at VCU and is fired. A new AD came to the school. Definitely sounds fishy, shame on you VCU. Colleges are suppose to embrace diversity.

    Need more info.

He seems to have been there a while, open with his life including his husband, and supposedly has a good work record.

Considering his longevity there, it's going to be difficult to prove that his sexuality was part of the issue (unless someone told him explicitly).

New AD this summer. Told his players he wanted to find a better representative of the University. That shouts discrimination in my mind.

Putting it that way, yeah, it does sound like someone is jealous that he can't come out of the closet and be as open as the guy he secretly has a crush on and knows he'll never get.

I don't know what legal recourse he's expecting, our state AG Ken Cuccinelli was infamously explicit that there is no protection on the basis of sexual orientation in any state university.

    That's what appeals are for.

I'm usually not the type to immediately jump to conclusions, but this all sounds fishy to me.

Obviously, the article is a bit one sided, since the other side won't comment at all, but there are definitely some fishy details here.

Fired after his best season? Want a better representative? Those two alone make his claims seem true.

The only out I can see is if they already have some big-shot lined up to take the job. Only then does it become even slightly possible that this isn't discrimination.

But what do I know, I'm more of a video game nerd. icon_rolleyes.gif

no, the same athletic director demoted a lesbian for the same no reason of taking things in a different direction.
