i am a huge fan of Sid Sriram. His voice could calm any beastly creature i swear. He def does not use any devices to enhance his voice like rihanna..t pain etc. Hes pretty talented and i am kind of glad that he does his own thing and doesn't really change himself for the industry. take a listen..he did a cover of Frank Oceans "We all try".

If underground is synonymous with obscure, then I've recently been really into bluegrass/alternative fusion bands e.g. Truckstop Honeymoon, Split Lip Rayfield, and Brown Bird.

This is Brown Bird. I saw them when they opened for Trampled by Turtles.

This is Split Lip Rayfield. I first saw them when they did a private show in my friend's restaurant, and yes the bass player did indeed make his bass out of a fuel tank.

This is a friend of mine. He will shortly be auditioning to go into the blind auditions for the next season of the voice with the below song.

If the world was right there would be nothing underground about The Deer Tracks. They would be the biggest band in the world.

sexy vocals over smart electronic pop

The guy who was playing the sax the other night on the 6 train on my way home. Don't know his name, but he was great, and made that late-night subway ride much more pleasant. I gave him the few bucks I had in my wallet.

(You did say underground, right? He was, literally, underground.)
