What's your comfort food?

What's that food you eat when you feel like you just wanna get away from it all? That food that takes you back to that happy place. Mine is Mac and cheese and I might toss some shrimp in and some mushrooms.

I know that's horribly unhealthy but I used to be a big ice cream guy. Like a half a gallon would last me a day and maybe if the mood hit me some snack cakes. But I was really into sweet junk whenever a funk came by. And funks visited often lol.

I've never been a bread or potato person. I mean I can binge on potatoes but there's gotta be like Mayo or sour cream around. I used to eat sour cream with everything. Chips, pizza rolls, fishsticks and whatever else I could put in my hand. I only eat bread if its a sandwich though. Not a fan of rolls j less there's something in them.

Another food I used to use for comfort is frozen pizza. I would go through those things like crazy. Like two at a time. And usually with sour cream. I also did fried foods and anything microwavable. I'm slowly away from that though.

    What about you?

Ice cream, chocolate, cheese, french fries. Not all at once, (Though french fries dipped in a milkshake is a classic for me) icon_biggrin.gif

I've never heard of anyone eating pizza like that. . . I could try it though.

My comfort food has always been burgers. Doesn't matter where from: Mickey D's, Carl's Jr, Burger King. . . Anywhere where I can just get a big burger with a bunch of stuff piled on. Always makes me feel better. icon_biggrin.gif

Its quite delicious actually but its horrible to eat pizza like that. So much fat and calories. I have high cholesterol so it was literally murder for me.

No doubt fried chicken. Nothing solves everything like a bucket of popeyes...

Oh gosh I can go ham on some cheesecake, lol.

A usual Friday night treat for me would be a mini cheesecake from Publix with a half gallon of ice cream.

Can't go wrong with sweet or savory cheesecake! Would love to have some right now; if my legs weren't so sore from my leg routine yesterday. icon_confused.gif

It's good but it's not really good for you. I replaced it with quiche with although can be fatty usually has enough other stuff in it to cancel it out.

    I still prefer chili fries.

I have to cross to Windsor to get poutine, but it is SO worth it! Love the stuff! Great to cap off a night of drinking with my buddies. I am also fond of chicken shawarma from Bucharest in downtown Detroit. AMAZING!!!

Smart alternative! homemade can make it taste better, and you can use egg white only if you want! I'd love to add some whole roasted garlic to some quiche! icon_smile.gif
