Next year I'm going to be competing in my first NPC contest. I'll be doing Men's Physique at the NPC Governor's Cup in March. Just hired my diet guy and sent away for my NPC competitor card -- so excited! Anyone else looking to compete in bodybuilding or physique competitions next year?

Not 2013, but maybe by the end of 2014 or 2015 I'll be competing. Good luck: you must feel pumped to be at this stage.

It's such an awesome goal. Good luck to you, too! I'm beyond excited. Even after seeing what I'm going to be eating for the next few weeks (and beyond...) I'm still looking forward to it. Ask me again in March when I'm carb depleted. icon_razz.gificon_lol.gif

Good luck to you, too! I had a good chuckle the other day because I noticed that in just two short years I'll be competing in the 35+ masters, and I'm only just getting started! You look great. Awesome size!

I had planned on doing a fall contest here in Texas but a massive job layoff back in March messed up my finances and time.

I took off several months from the gym and now back in it since October. I went from a low of 233 this summer to now at 255. I'd like to get offseason to at least 280 at 11-12 bf and then cut from there. That's not alot of size for me since I'm 6'2".

I started lining up one sponsor so far and am gonna do some personal training in my spare time at night, a few times a week, to fund my bodybuilding needs.

Not sure if I will do contest in fall 2013 or wait and com e in as a freak in spring 2014.

Awesome, bud! You're right about the money. I had no idea how expensive it was all going to be when I started. Trainer, diet guy, supplements and my grocery bill are already adding up, plus $100 here and there to enter contests, and get my NPC card. Hope your bulk goes great -- post pics!

Do what all the 18-year-olds do and cam on youtube and post a link to a paypal or amazon wishlist.

I am doing my second competition next year in May - Mr Natural MN. I am so excited! Last year - in my first contest - I placed fifth in my novice division and just missed placing in the Masters by 2 points! Feedback from the judges was pretty consistent - work on be width of my back and build my chest overall. It's so fun having a panel of eight people telling you what's wrong with your body icon_smile.gif

Next year I will accept nothing less than placing in the top 3!

Im gonna head over to the Arnold Classic next year, but as a spectator only. Still trying to get enough size to compete. How old were you when you started training seriously?

Does anyone think I'm to old to ever achieve competition...not like Olympia or anything, but like amateur?

The diet is the hardest part - my partner hated it - still got to love the day after - marshmallows and ice cream for breakfast!

I turn 50 in October and I'd like to get on stage again this time in the Grand Masters division. I compete in the INBF. I took all of 2012 off having competed multiple times in 2010/11. I love the training part of the sport - the diet part... well, that's something you just have to do. Good luck to everyone getting on stage this year!

Congrats! I wish you good luck in competing. If I could follow a diet for 12 weeks without losing motivation or missing work outs, I would consider competing.

I have a hard time eating the same thing day in and day out icon_neutral.gif I believe that diet is the hardest part. I will be repeating my 12 week diet and lifting plan laid out for me by my trainer/natural BB,starting on monday
