Charlie Gibson took it up the ass tonight on ABC World News Tonight

Yup. She gave it to him....hard.

In my humble opinion, Charlie Gibson made a pact with the devil to get the interview everyone wanted.....Sarah Palin.

Unfortunately, any questions thrown at her were so easily answered that to me there is little doubt she was well advised to the questions...and probably the republican machine FED him the questions that he asked her.

Plus, Charlie traveled to her for the interview.....which just happened to be on 9/11.

    It felt totally scripted.

On top of that you could visually see the multiple edits....a total disgrace.

    Did I see it wrong?

    I don't think so.

I have watched ABC for 20 years tonight was my last night.

She should try going on BBC's "hardtalk". That guy is civilized but holds no punches. Gibson's questions were not all that tough. I wish I would hear questions about tax policy, the environment or the economy. Instead I hear questions about what she supposedly said about Iraq and "God's Will", or a lame question about her experience.

Hannity is next to interview her in a week. Even O'Reilly calls him a commentator and not a journalist. So why?

Gibson looked annoyed, as he peered over his reading glasses, that he had to feed her the questions. Humpf, "In what respect, Charlie?" Really is that the poise she learned from running for Ms. Alaska? I loved it when he cut into her "blizzard of words" so he could get a yes or no answer about

If she's not ready for Gibson and goes to Hannity for a little rest and mental relaxation, how will she be ready for the debate?

I guess we were watching two different interviews. I thought Charlie Gibson tried several times to pin her against the wall and trip her up. Okay, so the woman can handle the press -- good for her.

I read this morning, I think it was USA TODAY, that Governor Palin vetoed a ban on Same Sex Marriage in Alaska because she found it unconstitutional. Maybe she isn't the demon you all are thinking she is.

LOL .. you are really grabbing for straws. She only did it because she didn't want the courts to slap her down (she had to veto), but she stated she wanted to ban if she could muster an amendment ..

Source: New York Times, pp. A1 & A10, "An Outsider Who Charms" Aug 29, 2008 Ms. Palin said she supported Alaska's decision to amend its Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. But she used her first veto as governor to block a bill that would have prohibited the state from granting health benefits to same-sex partners of public employees. Ms. Palin said she vetoed the bill because it was unconstitutional, but raised the possibility of amending the state Constitution so the ban could pass muster.

Correct, she vetoed it because she was told it was unconstitutional, however, she has pressed to get the constitution changed.

They will never put her in front of an unscripted interview, unless of course, it is done on FOX news.

In this forum, "taking it up the ass" is a good thing. I like it, I envy Charlie now.

Charlie tried to do the "Gotcha" thing and it didn't work out so well. I bet Charlie doesn't know what "Bush Doctrine" is either, does anyone? I mean, Monroe had a doctrine, Truman had a doctrine, Bill Clinton played Doctrine with Monica, but does President Bush have a doctrine?

Sarah did very well, from now on she's Strap-on Sarah!

GOOD GRIEF!! More FAUX News spin! Faux News NEVER EVER denied the term Bush Doctrine until Palin showed her true colors in not knowing what it was. This term has been around since late 2002.

Before You think Ms Palin is some one you wanna invite to your
    Civil Union reception

    ... think again

In one of his last acts as governor, Palin’s predecessor Frank Murkowski called the legislature into special session in 2006 to approve a same-sex couples benefits package to comply with a court order declaring the lack of health and pension benefits violated the Alaska constitution.

But rather than approving the plan the House and Senate passed legislation prohibiting the Alaska Commissioner of Administration for implementing the court ruling.

Both houses then voted to endorse a move putting the issue to a statewide plebiscite, asking voters if a constitutional amendment barring gay benefits should go on the 2008 ballot.

Shortly before the January 1, 2007 deadline newly elected governor Palin, vetoed the bill that would have blocked the state from giving the benefits and the plan kicked in at the first of the year. But Palin endorsed the referendum on the issue and she has publicly voiced her opposition to same-sex marriage.

Uh, I don't know. She sounded kind of like an idiot on numerous occasions to me. You don't need to "grill" someone in an interview.

It may be editing, but I don't like how quickly she answers questions. How can she not need to think about any of this?

Just what constitutes a "Doctrine"? Monroe's doctrine was a western hemisphere devoid of European empires. Truman's doctrine was to contain communism but not attack it either. This is what a doctine means, a blanket rule.

President Bush's administration has been almost all reaction to external threats, initiated by an external attack. If President Bush had a doctrine, it died on 9/11. This isn't what he wanted to do with his administration. Too often external events get in the way of plans.
