The trailer just dropped today. It's looking pretty neato.

I don't go to movie theaters very often anymore; but for THIS movie I'll make the sacrifice.

I'm thinking it's Gary Mitchell. The blonde (shown briefly looking down on Kirk) is possibly Dr. Elizabeth Dehner---even has similar hairstyle from TOS.

definitely going to go see it. hope it shows downtown at the nice theatres. I hate having to go see movies like this and listen to kids whisper and ask questions in the background

Don't get me wrong Im going to see this in a heart beat and it looks great. However, Things that the trailer lacks:
    stars
    treks
    darkness
    space

I feel as if its losing its star trek roots.

Watching the Trek reboot always makes me think of seeing a brilliant, kind, charming friend with someone completely wrong for them, that's changed everything about em.

Long time Star Trek fan here (from TNG, Voyager, to Enterprise [I find DS9 a little too.. boring])
I saw the trailer.. wasn't impressed at all. I guess it's because it's too repetitive, too J.J Abrams signature - CGI everywhere!

You may be on to something. He wasn't sure what kind of a world he could use.

I know what you mean. I enjoyed the Abrams' reboot, but as an action movie and not a "Trek" film.

I am thinking that this film's villain will be Khan.
I say that because there is:

    A. a blonde love interest (guessing it's Carol Marcus)
    B. Kirk returns Spock's "vulcan salute" through a pane of glass. (Spock dies of radiation poisoning in the engine room)
    C. Cumberbatch's voice can be heard saying he is returning to "...have his revenge." (Khan was exiled after the Eugenics Wars by the people of earth)

The trailer looks very good. I guess the villain could be Kahn if they completely rewrite the story of how he was found and what he did when he was released.

Stoked for anything Star Trek. I agree that DS9 was snooze fest.

I'm guessing your talking about the inordinate amount of lens flares?

    Perfectly put!

I love Star Trek and I find Chris Pine REALLY hot, but oddly I'm not sure they work together.

It looks interesting... but I get the feeling they won't be in space much or on the ship much, which kind of kills the essence of Star Trek. Don't get me wrong, I loved the last movie a lot, but I thought that now that the crew were together as they should be we'd get to see them take on a familiar foe in space.

I was actually hoping that Q would have shown up and let Kirk face the Borg.
