I read this story this morning and it stuck with me all day. Very upsetting.

Bullying is very prevalent down here too. Can't believe the sick fuckers who get off on this bullshit.

Pretty hard to take you seriously with a tragedy like this, considering many of your stances here on RJ.

"many of my stances" ??? You certainly meant to say all .... correct?

Very sad. What made it worse is reading some of the posts by others after. Some blaming the kid for "being" gay and the parents for allowing him to be gay. I had to stop reading. It reminded me how hateful people can be. icon_cry.gif

Stories like this are heartbreaking and they also make me furious. It seems as if bullying aimed at gay teens is swept under the carpet until the teen commits suicide. AFTER the fact, students, teachers, principals, etc always say they are sorry for what happened and that they didn't know what was going on when I'm sure they actually did. So shameful....

I can't imagine what LGBT kids in these situations are going through. I had a hard enough time dealing with my sexuality without anyone knowing when i was in high school (led to one suicide attempt in grade 10 and I can't be thankful enough it failed). Then having that added pressure of being bullied on top of everything else.....it's just awful.

This is why it's important to come out of the closet and take a stand against the 'moral' asstards in this world. We owe a a lot to the previous generations of LGBT who fought to make our lives less painful. It is getting better but not fast enough. My heart aches for the two strong, brave kids in Michigan named in the article.

No one needs your permission to denounce evil. Your sarcasm is uncalled for. Save it for a lighter topic.

As someone who was bullied a lot as a kid, I hate when fellow victims turn to harming themselves instead of harming the bullies.

    + infinity

I've shot fag bashers. It's no sweat off my back. Though that was 20 years ago, I still look back and wish I'd killed them.

    No remorse for bullies here.
