My source for "everything interesting", RJ member "Solidguy" advises me that there will be a parody of the Palin woman tonight on Saturday Night Live....

I don't know if there can be a parody... the original is bad enough....

First time having seen Palin, I just imagined what Tina Fey might be able to do to bring her down. icon_smile.gif GOD WILLING. I mean, if it's God's plan, if we're on the right side of God, or whatever the fuck she was talking about w/ the Abe Lincoln reference shite...

Anyway - I hope the Palin/Gibson interview is thoroughly shredded.

No problem - NBC was just as quick to block it though. I'm sure it will be back up soon. In the meantime, I'll upload it to a different server.

And yet you and the other Republicans respond as compulsively.

She represents to many of us the triumph of pure political expedience over substance -- the gross cynicism of the Republican agenda, which has now co-opted Obama's "change" meme and is campaigning against "the old Washington," of which it is the principal player.

It's a silly ploy to accuse people who question a candidate's qualifications -- she won't even be interviewed openly -- of some unwarranted fear. When Barack Obama addressed the Jeremiah Wright business, most of the terrified panicky loudmouths calmed down (except for diehards who are still trying to make hay with it). When Ms. Palin subjects herself to the same scrutiny Obama did, people will calm down.

Stand by the original assertion. Terrified and obsessed. It is clear. With each retort and attempt to explain, it just solidifies the assertion.

Unshakable and unresponsive to an actual argument. I could say that is obsessed and some would say it exemplifies terror of actually investigating the objection. It's a lot like a kid stamping his feet, in fact.

But, honestly, I don't care. I'm afraid of any candidate who will not openly submit to interviewing, is under ethics investigations and prides herself on her ignorance. The notion that this fear is "terror" that reflects obsession is just a silly attempt to dismiss the actual concern. It's the Republican "obsession" with reducing everything to a question of fear, so that Democrats look cowardly compared to their own pseudo-macho demeanor.

"The idea of Sarah Palin becoming president scares me."
"You're an obsessed, terrified, pathetic, whiny, blah blah blah."

Translation: "Let's change the subject to your manhood."

Being unobsessed, I expect you not to reply. icon_biggrin.gif

Actually, according to the Republican Robot Manual, you need to repeat your assertion at least 17 more times before it becomes "clear."

An additional 47 more will make it "true."

Remember, don't add any actual explanation. Just keep repeating your conclusion, and say that everything everyone else says in response makes your view even more true.

    Good work Unit 247203!

You have read my other forum posts. You are more than aware that if really felt like dragging out a long-ass debate I could. I don't. You already know what I think about the subject. A lot of repetitive posting does not get anyone anywhere.

    You win.

Actually, I don't recall reading any more than a few posts by you.

Do read Iguana's post above. It's a more concise explanation of how you have fallen lockstep into Republican strategy.

Glad I won. *does victory dance*

Curious - you seem to think that we really give a shit what you think - actrually I think you thrive on it... and probably have no life outside this blog (Hmmm come to think of it... the real estate market is in the toilet... due to lack of governmental oversight in the mortgage industry... so you have a lot of time on your hands...)
