Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes...

The huger they hold, the huger the turn on. And the way they frame & accent the ass is just as good.

Plus I think they're still a good practical choice for athletic wear, use 'em myself.

One of the few remaining exclusively masculine clothing items, that says "I'm a guy!" in no uncertain terms when you wear 'em, not "Looks like some of your sister's things musta got mixed-up in the washer."

I mean, how can you NOT like THIS? (I assume this pic isn't a violation of RJ TOS, from an open-access web site for Undergear)

Love jock straps, I used to wear one back in the 80's when I would go jogging, I would come home and wack off to the smell of it afterwards lol. Haven't worn one in ages, my BF doesn't wear one either. Damn I miss that Jock strap now! LOL

Try a Google search. Also athletic wear shops, especially those for football & rugby. Duke & Bike are 2 brands popular in the US.

"Undergear" has some fashion jocks, as well as a few Duke athletic supporters. They ship internationally.

Their Home page. Type jock in the search window to see all their jocks:
http://www.undergear.com/

Their shipping page with international instructions:
http://www.Undergear.com/shippingReturns.asp?navtheme=cserv&click=sr&cm_re=hp-_-nav3.3-_-shipping

Tip: When you have the Undergear page open with the jock thumbnail pics, click on each one in turn. Takes you to additional views and ordering info. But don't miss rolling your mouse over the additional views, for YUMMY enlargements, shows why we Yanks love jocks!

Duke athletic jock below. I assume this pic isn't in violation of RJ TOS, from the Undergear open-access public web site.

I'm Sure as in Oz, and the UK. Jocks, and jock Strap are not the one of the same. In Oz, and I'm sure the UK too. jocks, are what Americans call briefs, and briefs are not the same as a JockStraps, and JockStraps are very American.

Which is one reason I included a couple of pics of American-style jocks with my replies, plus the Undergear link makes it clear to our Brit buddy what we're talking about, too.

I knew exactly of what you where referring to, and I did not need any pictures. Yes i agree, the pics are hot. Yet not all guys have the goods, too wear a Jockstrap. I still having a tight bubble ass, do look good in one.

I have some pics of me wearing a jock, under black leather chaps, one of my favorite outfits for leather parties. Or sometimes I'll wear a matching black leather jock, for a more coordinated look! LOL!

A few times I had to wear a leather thong with my chaps instead of a jock, though. The owner of a local gay club banned jocks, and would permit only thongs with a minimum 1-inch-wide ass strap, that he claimed complied with a local ordinance.

Which was almost plausible, until one time he brought in 2 guest bartenders for a special event, who worked all night wearing conventional athletic supporters and not a stitch else! Made for some nice eye-candy, though, and kept the barstools filled till closing... LMAO!!!

To begin, I think that considering the fact that the initial post used the term « Jock Strap » that the object in question wasn't really in question to begin with. Secondly, my being Canadian (a country which has retained more of the Queens English than the United States) with British parents, and growing up on British television, I can say I don't remember ever hearing the term « Jocks » in any British conversation regarding American briefs, rather they used the term « Y-fronts » because of the upside-down Y-shaped hemming on the front where the fabric overlaps so you can pull your cock out without having to take them off. Even a quick scan of Wikipedia, flawed as it is, would show that the term « Jocks » is used only in Australia... I think that in this case you've done the exact thing you've accused others of doing; assuming that everybody outside your country (except for the US) uses the same terminology you do in your country without actually looking into it, we don't all use Australian English either...

Nah, you ain't perverted, you were just inspired! LOL!!

As I mentioned elsewhere, I really think the jock strap/jock/athletic support/supporter is one of the few remaining 100% masculine clothing items left to men these days. Even when I see one empty, as you did in the store, I can't help but think about what goes inside it. It just screams "cock & balls!" and "bare ass!" at me! "Fill me up and stretch me out!" LMAO!

Even men's neckties have been appropriated by women, and I watch lesbians getting married in our tuxes. (But bless them, anyway) Thankfully I don't think they've figured out a reason to get into our supporters yet, though.

Nope, a jock strap still has only one manly purpose. And as the British have their Order of the Garter, I propose men devise an Order of the Jock Strap for themselves, to recognize notable achievements in outstanding masculinity.

Greatest overall displacement of a jock pouch? Least able to fit inside a cup? Greatest contribution to the furtherance of the wearing of the athletic supporter by men everywhere? We can fill in the details later.

My only stumbling block is the Investiture Ceremony, and how the token would be presented to the recipient. Should it be a real jock, like the Garter is a real garter, or some sort of facsimile. Your suggestions would be welcome.

Actually, I have worn both a couple of times this week, for workouts.

The underarmour shorts are WAY TOO HOT in summer weather.

On the other hand, I didn't notice a small burr (tracked in by the dogs, transmitted through the laundry) on the strap of my jock, before a bike ride. It opened up a big cut on my ass that I didn't notice until I got home and cooled down.

So now, it's no underwear at all, until that heals.

For the same reason some old guys wear a belt AND suspenders? Maybe he wanted extra security for the family jewels? To present a eunuch-like flatness in his outer shorts to keep the gay guys away? He read a theory that extra heat and moisture would make his stuff swell up? A jock gives the support he wants, but he feared somebody would see his butt hole when he did crunches? So the boxer briefs would hide the jock's leg strap line whenever he bent over, keeping his ass from looking like an NFL player's before the snap?

Other than that, makes no sense to me, either.

Well, ya got yer trade-offs here. A jock will contain a boner pretty well, but also tends to make your basket look bigger overall, almost as good as a built-in C-ring. But maybe that's a plus for you?

And the leg straps might make an outline in your spandex body suit if it's snug enough. Think of those NFL players in their skin-tight pants. Not sure if a jock shadow is a good image on the dance floor.

You might want to opt for a thong with a jock-like pouch. Cause usually you don't want any underwear outlines with tight Spandex, not even bikini briefs.

Decisions, decisions...

Understand about the dirty, but boys will be boys, and I've seen every item of athletic wear in the grossest of conditions imaginable. There's no reason jocks can't be as clean as any other item. I wouldn't wear mine otherwise, and I think their materials & construction keep them fresher longer during an exercise session than ordinary underwear, if only washed as often as a pair of athletic socks.

As for discomfort, I also found jocks unpleasant at first, until I learned to dress up and not down. Previously I'd been sending my star player deep into the pouch, imitating the way Jockey shorts had always handled him, and unwisely cramming the whole team together. Nobody was happy with that arrangement.

But once I realized that, unlike Jockeys, a snug jock gave me more positioning options, I could assign all the players more generous space to operate within. There was less feuding among the team members and everybody was a lot more satisfied.

I also found that same trick worked well with Lycra Speedos, too, when that youthful option was still available to me. It seemed odd at first to be pointing the senior member in the wrong direction, but it was the diplomatic thing to do to avoid conflicts over limited terrain. But now I see this practice has become internationally acceptable, even here in the US.

Yeah, I'm a jock strap supporter, but sometimes the old ideas are still the best ideas.

And let's not forget "knickers" in the UK. A personal anecdote on the word:

In 2004 I had ridden by myself to the annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. I always stay at a biker campground about 25 miles to the west in Belle Fourche, to avoid the nightly Sturgis mayhem.

Also staying in the campground near my tent were about 20 Scots, all riding Harleys they had sent over in a ship container from their homeland, while they had flown to NYC. They were traveling all over the US & Canada for the summer, and one of their stops was at Sturgis.

I became friendly with them, and one night we all agreed to go out local bar hopping together on foot. We were to initially gather at the campground's community room, and I & "Eric" were the first to arrive.

"Eric, you're wearing a kilt!"

"That's right, Bob." (pronounced Bawb-eh) "Ay thought Ay'd wear me kilt, as this is a special night."

"It's look great. Eric."

"And yah know what a Scot (Schaw-t) wears under his kilt, dontcha Bawb-eh?"

"Nothing, as I understand."

"Right! But Ay've still got me knickers on, so Ay need to take them off now."

And with that he reached under his kilt and pulled down a pair of bikini briefs, awkwardly stepping out of them one leg at a time.

"Well, Ay'm gonna hang them here on this hook, Bawb-eh, and there they arrr-uh. So doo you believe me, Bawb-eh, that Ay haven't any knickers on?"

"Well, yeah, sure."

"Ay'll show yah anyway, so there can't be any doubt about it."

And with that he lifted up the front of his kilt, revealing an envious example of uncut Scottish meat. And behind it was an impressive sac that seemed little smaller than the leather sporann hanging from his waist in front. I do wonder if kilts don't provide the ideal growth environment for the one thing men most want to raise.

"So doo yah believe me now, Bawb-eh?"

"Well, yeah, but I hadn't doubted you, Eric. I know what Scots wear, I used to work with the Scottish regiments in Europe when I was with the US Army there."

At that point others began coming into the room, and our discussion was cut short. We all left a little while later, Eric's knickers hanging on the wall hook until the next day.

We drank and danced half the night away, women attracted to the novelty of Scottish accents and Eric's kilt, the only man who wore one. I benefited from the female interest in our party with a few turns on the dance floor, but naturally lacked the motivation of the Scots to entice some of the ladies back to the campground.

And the lads were likely aware of my preference and didn't press me to mimic them, having seen my bike adorned with universally recognizable gay logos.

They were a fun group, and I was reminded that the Scots like to party hard. And that they wear knickers, until the kilt goes on.

An athletic jock pouch is well ventilated, why it has that mesh look. And because the generously pre-shaped pouch is held fast only at the top waistband and the lower leg bands, but not from the sides like a brief or even most bikinis, there's less tendency for the pouch to flatten against your body.

The pouch may look tight, but in reality that bulgy look means the jock's working as designed, to shape itself to your stuff, not squash it down. Meanwhile, out back, open leg straps instead of fabric keep your butt cooler.

That jocks have a smelly reputation is due to their owners' habits & inattention, not an inherent flaw in the supporter. It's minimal design and construction materials actually promote hygiene, and if guys were to hang week-old briefs, gym shorts & socks on the locker door after yet another heavy workout, like they do with their jocks, the effect would be even worse.

I suspect it's because jocks don't seem to be getting soiled as quickly as other underwear that they get pushed beyond their limits, until the nose finally signals what the eyes have failed to notice. If you wash sox & jox at the same intervals, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm Sure as in Oz, and the UK. Jocks, and jock Strap are not the one of the same. In Oz, and I'm sure the UK too. jocks, are what Americans call briefs, and briefs are not the same as a JockStraps, and JockStraps are very American.

The whole world dose not speak American English, nor did America invent it....English that is. But I think they did, the Jockstrap.

Jockstraps - yes please! I love them.

And actually, 'jocks' is purely Australian slang for underwear..... the Brits use the word 'pants' for underwear.

Thanks for that. But I'll stick to me jocks. Pants are something I wear over em.

Oh a jockstrap is also something women down here call their bra strap too.

You don't see them in many sports stores down here ( not any I go to), as the are not considers a sports accessory, but more of a fetish accessory. So the last time I seen any for sale, was in a sex shop.

We never had them but I never considered them fetish material.

I bought some for my former boyfriend in bloomingdales on a trip to NY he would always put it on when he wanted attention from me.

There is something incredibly hot about getting to a guys ass without even having to take his underwear off.

I remember it like it was yesterday... in 9th grade gym class on the first day, the gym teacher said, "Alright boys, to become in gym you need 2 things: a lock and a jock."

Ever since that class I prefer wearing a jockstrap for any athletics. It holds the stuff in place during play. I also like the way they feel under jeans.

I recommend a variety of colors and styles. Recently got a swimmers jock - more trim, thinner leg straps, made to not be seen under a tight swimsuit. It rides lower on the hips and still give the same support.

Am I like the only guy who doesn't find these as a turn on? I think they are pointless and a waste of money. Why not just free ball

Freeball is what I do.. can't see any reason to do otherwise unless you need to change pants in public or something.

They do not do anything for me. I see they are useful for holding onto during sex in Porn. I have not experienced that myself

Isn't it more efficient to wash your underwear than your pants?

Yeah, that's one downside---I'm a clean freak so have to wash my pants after a single freeball 'use' LOL...

On a hot guy with a nice arse wearing a jock strap is a super huge turn on for me. I have quite a few pairs myself.

I'm located in Australia and I find the best place to buy all my underwear is at http://www.internationaljock.com I would suggest that as a good, reliable website and the have a great range of jock straps. My favourite brand are the Bike jock straps. Hot!

Incidentally - a jock strap is called a jock strap in Australia.

I've got two. One is eight years old. The other one I finally broke down and bought a new bike one at walmart.

I actually wear them for working out. Novel concept, I know.

EXACTLY! I'm pretty sure that sweaty jocks hanging on locker doors is what "made" me gay. They are a MASSIVE turn on to me. And no, I realize they didn't make me gay; actually the movie Beastmaster did. Go figure.
