    So most messages in my inbox have the infamous dreadful. Sup Subject and whats up message. Can we please have an inbox Etiquette class.

    Also I find myself not knowing what to say sometimes so I just creeped on peoples profiles and hot list them :icon_neutral.gif

    This is the internet. It's not srs business! I usually go by the rule that if I wouldn't say it in real life then I won't say it online.

    However, this is the internet and people can choose who they want to be. It's just a shame so many choose to be stupid.

    I can't tell you how many times I've hit the "trash all" button accidentally and lost email I never even read.... There needs to be an UNDO button on RJ.icon_confused.gif

    I'm pretty sure that a fairly simple scripting option could handle most of my inbox chores.
    "sup?" ---> not much. u?
    "same" ---> cool

    The script would only flag a new message for my attention if it escalated to the level of a complete sentence.

    My general rule of thumb is: you get what you give. If a guy sends me a message out of the blue with nothing but "sup", then I'm gonna reply "not much".

    I write "hiya" and "howdy" sometimes. Usually I only ignore people if they creep me out.

    Most people that use hi, sup, are shy and don't know what to say to start a conversation other than that.

    I try to reply to anything in my inbox. Some times people don't know how to start a conversation so they do the hot list or buddy list to get things started. I have no problem breaking the ice. I will not however respond to profiles who IM and are clearly here for camming. . . that is unless I am in the mood.

    An etiquette class would be awesome but the fail rate would be too high.

    It's not that big a deal. Ignore anyone who doesn't know how to behave. Move on.

    Ain't that the truth! That being said - it's not like people are expecting any different treatment in the response (unlike women who expect to be treated as a lady but have no concept of how to behave like one!)

    Roadster, is that ALL you write, or is that just the beginning of a txt/msg?
