God this tragedy in Connecticut, the saddest of days. The shooter involving 28 families instead of just killing himself. Another tragedy where reality took the wrong turn, upping the ante: more horrific, bloodier, younger. Presents ready for Christmas that will never be opened. Makes u wonder where is god when u need him? And if there is a god why would (he) let this happen?

Why would god sacrifice 20 innocent young lives & 6 innocent adult lives?

" Makes u wonder where is god when u need him? And if there is a god why would (he) let this happen?"

Is god a him, or a her? What for?

If you're of the belief that god should and does meddle in our lives, then I can see you asking that question.
I don't believe god does so, so I don't ask such questions.

Just putting it out there. With all the tragedies we see happen on the news one after another, just makes it harder to believe in a higher being that's looking out for our welfare. And I put he in parenthesis for a reason to mean he, she, it or non-entity.......

It's a vicious cycle, the notoriety of copycat mass killing. It's big news & has to be covered.

It's this idea that gets many of the religious in trouble. It's confusing spiritual welfare with the physical.

And why the Christian religious extremists cherry-pick events as acts of God, alternately saying God did a helpful thing or a destructive thing. God saves lives on one occasion, and takes lives on another.

For instance, I heard God given credit for saving everyone on a plane flight that plunged into the Hudson River in New York Harbor. But God also sent Hurricane Katrina to kill 1800+ because New Orleans is too gay-friendly. And where was God when Muslim terrorists sent 3000 people to an ugly death in the World Trade Center? I thought God was supposed to be a Christian, or so all the churches say. Why did He let Muslims do that?

God is certainly inconsistent & unreliable. And apparently responds to the private agendas of His Christian representatives here on Earth. Or so they claim, for which a generous contribution will be welcome. icon_rolleyes.gif

That's not what Art said at all. Re-read the very last line of his post.

Felt surreal. Out shopping amid the hustle & bustle of holiday merriment the day after this tragedy in Connecticut. We all go on while the families of those involved in tragedies this year have to deal with their lost.

Two answers to the 'problem of evil'(natural and moral):
He`s actually a delusion on believers part.
Or, he`s not the kind to interfere in our lives, preferring we grew up and did it ourselves!
