came across this article earlier in the day.. it's easy to get caught up with all the bad that's going on in the world, and just as easy to forget that there's plenty of good out there too.

Some positive vibes to go with all the negative ones this week:

After those violent shootings at a Connecticut elementary school, it is getting harder to have faith in humanity when everything appears to be rapidly coming apart at the seams.

I hear ya, it's tough, it's our choice how to view that act and how we deal with it in the future though.. the latter is a work in progress, but the former -- that we can apply right away. There's this story circulating around - one of the teachers, she was in her mid 20's -- she hid all her students in cupboards, among other places, and told the shooter they sent all the kids to the gym. He shot her dead, there, but all her kids survived.

That act of kindness exists everywhere, and shows that people are capable of infinite good(ness) aswell. We should hold onto things like that and not fixate on the bad that happened -- learn from the act, prevent it in the future, but don't let it define or shape our views on the world and humanity as a whole. Y'know what I mean?

At least that's how I see it

Contemplate that you likely never heard of these stories before.
So, yeah, news focuses on the bad stuff.

The cynic in me, though, wonders why 26.
    12 I can see. Or 20 or 25. But 26?
Were they shooting for 52 (1 per week) but couldn't make it?
Or maybe 25 but couldn't find one more to cut?

The one where the blind boy who wanted to be a police officer was hugging the cop that took him for a ride along was extremely cute...

Great article. It's too bad things like these aren't shown more on the news.
