Anyone going? It'll be my partner's and my first time to one of these events, and our second trip there.

For those that don't know, it takes place 10/3 - 10/5. It'll be a good break away from computers and television and will be after the VP Nominee Debates.

Can't wait to get on the Hollywood Tower of Terror again. It's brain jiggling fun!

K, so maybe asking if anyone is going is the wrong question... Has anyone ever gone to a Disney Gay Day? What was it like?

I went to the Paris one a few years ago when a friend dragged me there.

Not counting the people working there, we must have been 40-50 from all over Europe, but I have to say that the real fun was had after the park had closed.

I went a few years back. Everyone is asked to wear red shirts to stand out in the public crowds. The "kingdom" party at night was fun at the california adventure backlot. That gets packed.

I went to it once by accident actually, and it was just insane... I swear half the california population and then some from out of state must have been there...

Just went online to see some of the pictures from the past Gay Days... this should be a blast! So much hotness in one place! And so much red! Certainly narrows down the decision for what to wear.

http://www.gaydaysanaheim.com/gay_days_galleries.html

Must go do cardio now. Have to have the body ready so I can take my shirt off while dancing at the Kingdom party. Looks that party will be at the House of Blues instead of the backlot that you talked about, Wrkoutbud30. I'm sure it'll be as hot on the dance floor as it was the last time I went to Disneyland! Just hope I don't get beer spilled all over me like I did then.

Excitement's a-building! Woo hoo!

Does Disneyland itself do this for gays, or part of a bigger event? At Disney World it's actually a part of Orlando Gay Days. Disney permits it but it's not their initiative.

Which makes the unawares straights who show up a bit unprepared for all those red shirts, and PDAs everywhere. Have the fundies tried to prevent the California one as they have here in Florida?

Disneyland once provided a day in years past to it's employees where they may bring friends and family to the park and enjoy the grounds in a safe environment. Years later, Disneyland no longer funded this day which gave birth to Gay Days 2. Gay Days 2 is not a Disneyland sponsored event. If you log on to their website, you will see no mention of this day.

I have been to this event in Anaheim three times in the past 5 years and have had a blast. I have yet to attend one of the night parties (Kingdom), however, being in the park and seeing a huge mass of red t-shirts is awesome. Not to mention seeing the faces of the str8s when they realize that they too are wearing a red shirt and what it means. HILARIOUS!

I've been to the one in Orlando several times! It's a blast down here with Typhoon Lagoon at night, with it's beach area turned into a giant nightclub! We also take over several places all around disney, have host hotel with expos, comedians (Margaret Cho, Mo'Nique), fashion shows (Christian from Project Runway did a show there last June), a ton of performances, DJs, and fun people to meet! I say, if you're going to do it, go all out, and don't expect to sleep much!

Well, to those of you that will be there, look for me and say hi.

I'll be in a red shirt so you can easily spot me.

Oh, and KirkBLB, I was all over California Adventure two months ago and didn't see the margarita stand. Where is it?

inadvertently went to a non-Disney sponsored one four years ago while in college.

It was cool. I had fun enjoying disneyland with my friends. didn't know it was going on and i wasn't really there to celebrate gay days so i just hung with my friends and we did our own thing.

However, what I did NOT appreciate was the few incredibly showy and flaming gay guys wearing incredibly offensive non family-friendly t-shirts.

among the 'winners' of the day were a few shirts that i vividly remember, saying such things as:

1. 'I Fuck on the First Date'

2. 'I swallow'

3. 'I take it in the but'.

I mean, WTF is that all about?!?!

Be proud of who you are. celebrate your diversity. Embrace your lifestyle.
but for damn sake. this is DISNEYLAND!!! Families bring their kids here. How the hell do you explain to your 6 yr old niece what it means to 'fuck' on the first date?!?! or what the f-word means in the first place?

come on now. that's just ridiculous!! i don't think that's acceptable infront of kids.

Yeah, joarky123, both my boyfriend who works for Disney and I would have a problem with that too.
They can keep that stuff for the parties.

I will, however, buy and wear a hat that has Annette's name on it. She's always been my favorite Mousekateer.

It's pretty close to the Boudin Bakery (where they make the sourdough bread). The Margaritas are made in a slushi machine and service in bright yellow cups.

Ok, I know where the bakery is. So I'll look for the Margaritas. Since it's Gay Days, why the hell not have one. Just maybe after the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride.

So...I probably shouldn't wear my shirt that says "Swallow, or it's going in your eye." (Joke)

I think some of the shirts are out of line, but there are definitely some very good (not offensive) ones out there. However, I prefer to wear a plain tank top.

I guess my Kelly Betch and Whore tees are out of the question for wearing around the little children.

The last time I went to Disneyland when I was little... I am guessing when I was about 11 years old. I always love the fireworks late at night and it is so amazing. I also remember my family and I went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and Universal Studios Hollywood. I haven't been to LA very long about 13 years ago. My family and I took a road trip from Phoenix to San Francisco and we always drive through LA.
