When he fires Roger Ailes who hires people like Hannity who gets Coulter to say: More guns, less shooting; and Huckabee who says, laws don't change shootings. I.e. when hell freezes over.

I don't think they will be.
But, of course, they should be.

Thankfully, the Republicans control the House, and there are enough Southern and Rust Belt Democrats for this bill to die in the House. icon_biggrin.gif

For what reason would you need an assualt weapon in public?
    This isnt GTA.

Exactly. Why would anyone, outside the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, have a legitimate need to possess an assault weapon?

    None of your business.

I love how liberals support the right to choose when it comes to killing the unborn, but when it comes to owning a gun, whether or not you want to join a labor union, whether or not you want to buy a large coke in NYC, etc., then suddenly you don't have a "right to choose."

In fact, despite the fact that my beliefs would put me in the Republican camp, one of the reasons I refused to vote for Mitt Romney last month was because of the assault weapons ban he signed back when he was Governor of Massachusetts.

    this changes nothing,

it's merely a feel good charade to let all the simple minded idiots declare that they're against the massacre of children, but they haven't a fucking clue how to prevent it.

the only thing this legislation guarantees is that the next shooting spree will be committed using a weapon that is statutorially "banned" do you honestly think banning them makes them all magically disappear?

this should give great comfort to the families of victims to know that the gun that killed their child was banned by their government. have a nice day.

the only way to stop these types of mass murders is to cut the oxygen off to the fire. the shooter craves the attention, needs a big stage to make his statement, and he knows he'll get it. Shut down the media coverage on these stories that elevate the shooter to celebrity status, and you extinguish the motive. CNN is more responsible for perpetuating these tragedies than anything the NRA has done.

WOW! Access to assault weapons is apparently important to you. Why?

Do you want an assault weapon or do you own one already?

This is great news. Assault weapons are designed to murder large numbers of people. They have no place in a civilized society. I have yet to hear one convincing reason why someone needs one.

If you feel like you cannot live without your weapons of mass murder, you are free to move to a third-world country, and take your weapons with you on your way out.

How DARE you say something like this? With the hatred that was born in your heart and spread through the rest of you like cancer, how do you live with yourself?

If liberals liked guns, they wouldn't rest until everyone had at least two. The only reason they're for restricting access to guns is because they're terrified of anything beyond a salad shooter. Schools need armed guards, because an evil bastard like this will always be able to find a gun if he tries hard enough. There's a bumper sticker that says "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". It's quite true.icon_neutral.gif
