I am spending the time leading up to Christmas, and Chrsitmas Day, facilitating my family's navigation through a drama which as put a 55 year marriage in jeopardy, and which is ripping the immediate family apart.
It is my hope that the best gift I can give them are suggestions on choices which may help bring awareness, clarity, safety, and security to my relatives' immediate family.
I guess all those decades of therapy, experience with family law, experience as a victim of domestic abuse, experience with crisis communications, and as a loving and accepting cousin, nephew, son, brother, and leader of nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations is paying off.
When it all comes down to it, we're family. United we stand, divided we fall.
May this holiday bring peace to all who may be facing "family drama". (I know, those words are redundant).
