BEST: A trip on Swissair(the original Swissair, not the new Swiss Intl), from Chicago to Budapest. Business Class, sitting on the 747 upper deck Chicago-Zurich, then 1st Class Zurich-Budapest. Phenomenol service and food. Great Business Class lounges at Chicago-OHare and Zurich. Even on the short 1hr 45minute flight Zurich-Budapest, full hot meal service, 6 flight attendants for 20 people in First. On the return flight it was a breakfast flight from Budapest to Zurich, the sun was coming up over the Alps and the food was amazing, creamy European yogurt and 5 star restaurant quality food, incredible!

WORST:Southwest Airlines from Columbus, Ohio to Chicago during a massive thunderstorm outbreak. NOT fun.The whole trip, no one uttered one word, except the Flight Attendants sitting behind me asking each other why we were flying in weather that bad.

Best flight: Cathay Pacific from NYC to Narita back in 1986.

Worst: The nearly 15 hour flight from CPT to FLL (in middle seat coach) when I was sick with some sort of jungle flu and thought I would die. March 2000.

Best: Chicago Midway to Fort Lauderdale via Southwest

Worst: New Vegas to Chicago Midway via Southwest. They had so many people who scurried onto the plane with buddy passes or stand by passes without checking in properly, they had to do a head count by name off a list. People weren't paying attention so they had everyone pull out there ID. The passengers were irate. Yelling at flight attendants, demanding free drinks, threatening to post on facebook about the situation and tell their friends.

    LIKE THEY GIVE A DAMN!!!!

If these dumb bitches could have checked in properly and or payed attention we wouldn't have been in that mess. The pilots though were able to make up time, and arrive 10 minutes early. Still love Southwest.

Best:Washington DC to Brussels on Lufthansa. It had been a long time since I've flown and coach got a lot nicer. Also I was travelling light and by myself so pretty stress free.

Worst:Brussels to Vilnius on Brussels Air. It was on an old small plane that didn't block out the noise from the propellers, didn't have air conditioning, and did not give out water.

Best: Delta airlines flight in 2010 from Atlanta to Los Angeles in business elite with the international lie flat beds and on the way back icon_lol.gif

Worst: United Airlines flight during summer 2012 from Chicago O'Hare to Fort Lauderdale. Coming back home from college orientation and getting stuck with two obnoxious old people who held up the plane on boarding, shoved an overhead carry on under the seat so that I had no way to get out of the aisle in case of an emergency, had melted chocolate on their fingers and sucked them off, and snored the rest of the flight home! icon_evil.gif

^ of course they were going to Boca Raton.

Best; YVR to LHR got upgraded to Business Class on British Airways at the gate. Needless to say, it was flawless. The flat-bed private seats, the food and drinks and the service - amazing.

Worst: I was a Flight Attendant for 2 years while in University. Worst flight I've ever been on was one I was Lead on. Departing YVR had to have a man arrested and then offload his bags before departure (security seemed to think he had an explosive device in his checked bag). Once that was all sorted out we flew into YYC very late into a thunderstorm. Too dangerous to land so diverted south to a small city called Lethbridge. Sat on the plane on the tarmac for nearly 4 hours (from around midnight to 4 am local time). Needless to say I was yelled at, spit on and threatened for holding passengers "hostage". As if I really wanted to be there any more than they did. And forget that we wanted everyone to be safe rather than dead... fucking people are dumber than sh*t when they travel. Srsly.

    PERFECTLY TIMED THREAD CONSIDERING TODAY!!!!!

    Best: Last May (Delta Airlines)
when I flew to New Jersey to go home...everything was close to perfect...nice people, smooth flight, no lines...everything I wanted.

    Worst: TODAY! United Airlines:
    -Cancelled flight
-Staff arguing/screaming right IN FRONT of me....Continental and United desk agents arguing about who was right and who was wrong and what procedures to follow when re-booking a flight and a bunch of shit that didn't matter to me in the slightest because this was a 5 a.m. flight and I was exhausted.
-Missed connection due to cancelled flight....and I saw my connecting flight leave as I was getting into the terminal.
-Trapped in Newark Airport for 4 and a half hours to catch next flight
-Crushed Christmas present for my grandmother in checked luggage...
-Lost my designated seat due to cancelled flight/rebooking and had to sit next to THE most uncomfortable guy I have EVER seen on a plane...he was practically in his chair AND MINE! He tried to fold his legs (which was NOT about to happen on this small ass jet) during the beverage portion of the flight and ended up flipping my tray table over in the process and spilling my coffee on my lap....my face: icon_neutral.gif .....my thoughts: icon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gificon_evil.gif

on top of that, I've had a chest cold and a headache for the last 3 days.

......the only silver lining for me I guess is that I'm at my grandparents' one piece icon_confused.gif hopefully I'll get some rest...

THENNNNNNNNN when I asked a gate agent at Newark what to do about my missed flight, she said that the only other option for me was for me to fly to either Cleveland or Chicago O'Hare and wait on standby...and I said "oh hell naw" to both options sooo I just had to wait in Newark...which was just as miserable as flying out of the direction I needed to go.

Depends which terminal at JFK you're talking about. I always fly Cathay Pacific into JFK from YVR and that BA terminal 7 is definitely in need of upgrading.

Jetblue, AA and International arrivals terminal are all pretty nice though... Delta's is mcnasty

Haha I've only used delta's. they need to freakin open their new terminal already! Flew through JFK past summer from Rome and it was still god awful possibly even worse than the last time I was there 2 years ago.

    Some interesting stories here.

By far, the least impressive part was the person who thought he was the shit by saying YVR and YYC (which normal people had to look up) instead of just saying Vancouver and Calgary like a normal douchebag. Because we are all sooooo impressed that you know airport codes... icon_twisted.gif

I worked for airlines for over 5 years and am still in the industry. I don't even notice when I use codes any more icon_confused.gif

Golly, I like looking stuff up. That's why I'm so smart. Airport codes are easy. Microcode instructions for processor gates are a whole 'nuther thing.

Put on your big boy pants and exercise your brain. It'll only hurt for a few microseconds.

    Have a nice day. :-)

Golly, if you're ever at DAL, or DFW, I'll rub your tummy, and feed ya' milk and cookies.

I grew up near ANW (big airport with no people nor planes ... old air base). I went to school in OFK, and I lived in LNK, and PHX, and live in DFW now, but, I'm actually closer to DAL.

Leaving the departure tower (DFW has four control towers...the most of any airport)...BUT DEN/DIA, has the most land mass. It's FUCKING HUGE. And, never get stuck in ATL, or ORD (on a Friday...what a mess...fuck).. MSP is a shittty place to be in the winter. I spent a week programming in GEG this year..cuz I could. I have flown to SUX many times on my way to see my mom (now dead). SEA is always gloomy (every time I have ever been there.) TUC (TUS) is hot in the summer..hotter than PHX (where I lived for five years and toasted everything toast-able). LAS, of course, is bigger in real life than on TV. What a party! Hope you never end up in GGG.

    Have a good day. LOL

Now, does anyone know what a heavy flight is?

No...it's not a flight full of fat asses. LOL.
