An intimate look into my life. It's about time that this video was made. I had to get this off my chest the best way I knew how, artistically.

Woke up before sunrise to start on this. The edit could be better but I'm happy with what I did.

Awesome video icon_smile.gif I smiled the whole way through it.

Yeah, the world begins and ends every moment, we just don't get that. Tomorrow isn't anything very special, beyond slowly transiting the galactic equator, unless we make it so. And we should. And we can. And we will.

Congratulations on being who you are without fear.

Wow this was very inspirational and thought-provoking. Well done, Saber. Thanks for taking the time to post it and sharing. I really wish threads like this would stay at the top of RJ for a while, but I'm afraid it might be covered up soon.

Good for you though, man! Thanks again!

    Nice job.

So which was scarier, coming out of the closet or jumping out of the plane?

I also wanted to tell the entire world when I came out, only we didn't have youtube back then, so I had to come out in a flipbook

Thirty-five years later and I believe mine is still only circulating around Jersey.

Beautifully done Saber. As a fellow artist, I can tell how each image and angle was a reflection of you as a person, and I think it's very brave to expose yourself like that.

Honestly, the way you were talking really touched me. You are an amazing speaker, and I wish you the best in life now that you are out and are starting to accept yourself. icon_biggrin.gif

Think you'd like this based on some things you said in the video. One of my favorite bands. Worth a listen

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I just came out myself.....at age 49. I'm so happy for you that you didn't wait that long. Your words resonated with me. Particularly the phrase: I'm just so tired (of lying to myself and everyone else).

It is exhausting....I know. Congrats to you and me.

Thanks for the words and the support guys. I definitely feel liberated. I've got nothing but positive support from all my friends and family. Looking forward to more honestly in my life.

Neither actually haha. Exiting the plane is one of my favorite parts of skydiving and I was beyond ready to come out and be honest. Confidence that was backed up with incredible support from everyone.

Glad for you that your coming out experience was a good one. We hear so many sad stories. Mine was a little rougher, only because we didn't have internet and the experience wasn't discussed much by our peers back then even in person, but all my family and most of my friends also were great about it. What a huge difference that makes in a person's life. I hate that not all of us get to experience that.

Never been parachuting myself. I always thought it looks wonderful though. I'm saving that little thrill for my 80s when there'll be less left to risk. I'll probably start smoking again and drinking heavily then too as I'll probably want to be rushing things along.

May you enjoy a long and healthy life of living honestly though I suspect by your vid that honestly is not really the issue here, but simply openly and bravely. We may be fooling ourselves sometimes but I don't believe being in the closet generally rises to the level of fibbing. But for homophobes, not being out doesn't make us dishonest people. If there was dishonor in wanting to save your own skin sometimes, there'd be a lot more dead soldiers.

Congrats Saber! Its too long to type but let m say that falling in love with a wonderful man gave me the confidence to come out and say fuck off to whoever does not like it.I understand some people have much more difficult situations than me.There is no one way to come out.Ryan

Antijock, thanks for sharing your story and your thoughts. While I was in the closet I was constantly lying. "There aren't really any girls around here that I like.", "Yeah I've had a girlfriend.", "Wow, she looks so hot."
Lying to people's faces got old and did nothing but damage my self esteem. That's why I was referring to honesty in my video. Now when asked if I have a girlfriend I can look that person in the eye and say "Boyfriend, and not right now." I want to be honest with myself. That is a luxury in life and I intend to abuse it. I am a gay man and I'm damn proud.
Skydive now, skydive when you're 80. You'll survive either one icon_smile.gif

Ryan, that is awesome to hear! Congradulations on coming out and to your budding love icon_smile.gif

I had a huge problem with lying back in high school... I wanted everyone to see me as the cool guy with tons of friends and things to do after class, and made up a ton of stories. It became a huge burden, and years later I moved to a new city, with a clean slate, made new friends, and was able to live honestly.

I clicked this thread with interest thinking it was about that kind of honesty, but it's just another coming out story... meh lol.

^^Obviously kudos to the OP and I'm happy for him, just not intrigued... one can only watch so many it-gets-better videos before becoming bored by more or less the exact same story lol...
