I broke my arm the other week in a really stupid accident. Is there any physical explanation for why I've been feeling pretty fucking shitty ever since? I mean aside from the pain, which is manageable. I just feel depressed, and have no idea what's causing it. Is it the change in my fitness routine?

Are you taking any pain medications or taking any new medications lately?

I can relate. I just fractured my elbow. I am sad, wish I could skip the holidays altogether and just lock myself in my house and not come out.

    This too shall pass.

All the best to you, friend.

I have hydrocodone for the arm but stopped taking it a few days ago. Other than that no.

I just know that when I broke my knee and ribs earlier this year, the vicodin they gave me made me so sleepy and irritable. I only took it for about 3 days then stopped cause I hated the way it feels.

You may feel a bit depressed because you can't go about your usual everyday schedule. Plus maybe because of the change of the season????

Pain, healing and inflammation all cause chemical reactions in the body - stress hormones are released which will have a bearing on your mood.

Changing your fitness routine will also have a big effect, the hormones released by exertion and reward are going to be absent too..

See if you can get on a stationary bike or do something like leg presses while your arm is recuperating..
