The prof has since taken down his site but thankfully, it's been preserved by a few other sites.

It baffles me to know that people take a music professor seriously on something other than music.

In real life, most of them are stupid as fuck.

Lol I would be a lot more economic in my penalties, if I were to be sole judge and jury. I would ask all global warming deniers to bet their life savings (and their children's and their grandchildrens') after the average temperature has risen, and after sea levels are much higher than now. They would have to work off the economic damage done by global warming. This includes current lawmakers who write the law to deny science:

Would you be willing to bet on the other side that that the existing models for warming are right?

How could you ask such a question? The other side of that argument is an absolute impossibility to the left! It's like asking if fish can think and speak!

It's called science---remember that subject you flunked out of in school?

Not necessarily stupid. We're in a music PhD's house right now having Christmas with him and his (legally married) husband.

    BTW, Merry Christmas, Paul!

And he's very smart, in music and matters of art. What he is not smart in, or at least not an expert, would be scientific things like global warming. And certainly has no special qualifications & credibility outside his discipline.

And that I think is the issue here with this other guy, as you note. Whether or not he's correct regarding global warming, and has studied this subject in depth, he's just not gonna have credibility if he's known primarily as a music professor.

I'd say that this particular music professor is pretty smart.

If he had not stated his outrage with global warming deniers, in an outrageous fashion, do you think the Cute Asian Boi would have bothered giving him this little extra bump of publicity?

Lol I would if there was a market for it. And I'm not talking about comparing decades, I'm talking about comparing 1980 and 2050.

Existing models might not be perfect, but that's how science works. Just because they're not perfect doesn't mean the scientific method can be legislated away.

BTW, the music professor might have a point:

It's also an example of how the left sees anyone who doesn't follow them with a numbed mind as the most vile and pure evil to ever exist. As opposed to many on this earth who would gladly torture any and all of us to death for being gay, american, or non-islam.

GOOD REMINDER. Whether we consider ourselves to be right or left of center, WE DO HAVE COMMON ENEMIES AND COMMON GOALS.

From what I'm reading here, most of the conservatives have the exact same ideas about banning assault weapons but as soon as a perceived Liberal makes the argument, the Conservative reflexively tries to counter it even if that same Conservative made the same case 5 minutes earlier.
