Is it wrong that I want to be taller?

For a few years now, I have silently been hoping that I would grow. A lot of people in my family are taller than me, and I went to a school with an extremely strong basketball program so everyone there was at least my height or taller.

I always felt satisfied with my height until I entered high school, but now I find myself wishing I was 6'2 or 6'3. But then in some respects I feel like an ass for thinking like that since 6 feet is more than most people get.

It's not wrong, but you're 6'0 - which is a great height in my opinion. Plus with your cute face, you're perfect.

Ugh I wish I was like 5'3". My height just does not fit my personality or my taste in men.

What you got to complain about? You're 6'.

Most of the men in my family are 6' tall and I'm 5'8". My own father was 6' tall. I guess I didn't grow enough because I was malnourished because I was a finicky eater growing up and I starved myself. My mom is only 5'4" so maybe that contributed as well. But I wish I was as tall as my father, uncles and cousins.

Pleez. I threw around bf's that were way bigger than me. Height has nothing to do with it.

I'm 6'6"... there are definitely drawbacks to getting much over 6'. Be thankful for the clothes selection you have to choose from, and the fact that your skull has not been thickened like that of a pugilist. icon_lol.gif

Wanting something to 'be' that isn't, is a sure fire recipe for unhappiness. You will always blame the perceived deficit as the cause of your woes and it could blind you to genuine problems that need to be addressed.

I don't think it's wrong to wanting to be taller. I certainly have at one point but after thinking about it, I actually am happy with my height. I'm 5'7 and most of my friends are the same height. Also, I also don't believe that being taller will make you more attractive or desirable. I knew a guy who was 5'5 with a very strong confidence and just about every guy he met wanted him.... including me!

Instead of telling you that you're wrong for wanting to be taller,
(useless and dismissive to tell you)
I'd urge you to think about why you'd want to be taller... Not the outward reasons mentioned in your initial post, more of the satisfaction you hoped to get from it.
I'm 'only' 5'11" on a good day and for modeling, it was always a problem not being over 6'.
Taller guys are just part of whats considered 'ideal' in society and modeling, and for me, was a way to beat myself up of where I wasn't.
That takes up a lot of time from appreciating myself... Not an easy thing to do no matter what people may say.

Personally, it doesn't affect me in terms of dating someone taller or shorter.
My last relationship, he's 6'3, and before that, I was dating a guy who was 5'4.
    I'm 5'7.

I'm 6'2" and I wish I were 5'10". It would make buying a car or clothes more convenient, not to mention I wouldn't have to spend extra 4 or 5 years in the gym just to achieve the same bulk a shorter guy achieves in less time. I'm not attracted to lanky guys so being tall and lanky serves me no purpose at all.

Wow your height is already awesome Dekiruman, seriously.
If you really want a basic rundown, I think it's an ideal height because you aren't too tall or too short for anyone!
Regardless, I share a similar plight in the sense that I too wish I was taller, but ah well can't do much about it short from cosmetic surgery.

I suppose what I lack physically I have to think of ways to make up for it, like focus on my "inside" beauty lol.
Seriously though, I think you're height is awesome!
    Work it!

This! I'm 6' 7" and about to board a plane. Needless to say I'm not excited about it.
